I just hate the idea of getting a player that is sorta proven and the. Having to decide on an extension immediately. Both guys are likely to get more than they should this offseason… and I know we can wait but it’s tough.

That the Heat are chasing a 'big fish' who wants to be traded to Miami and the Heat are making a trade offer on Monday morning.

Eric Walden reports on ESPN 700 on Monday afternoon that a big trade offer for Mitchell came in from the Heat that morning.

Pretty simple math here.

If Miami was all in on Don and close to a trade it's a little odd that they're also linked to basically every other player in the trade market and free agency.

I also can't find anything about Walden's report.
 
Miami's big trade offer includes Herro who wants a max extension, Duncan Robinson who got benched in the playoffs, and the 25/27 picks in 3/5 years. lmao

The next predictions are:
1) The team with the big fish player is entertaining the discussion.
2) That team wants final offers in by Thursday.
3) Another third team, the 'big fish' player's 2nd choice, is also making a big offer for said player and improved their offer this week.

Can you link to Walden reporting that Miami made an offer for Don?

No it's not. Their chances of getting Donovan are 50-50 at best. So they're chasing other possibilities. It's just that it appears that Donovan is their top priority.

Personally, I think the Jazz would ask for Butler. Whether he stays with the Jazz or not, who knows, but I would want that level of asset in the discussion.

Look… you can’t fall for big mikes Rumorzzzz. I can basically guarantee this is all BS. Heat can make all the offers they want. They all kinda suck… they are the kind of offers you settle for when nothing good comes up.

I’m hoping for a Gobert trade to either ATL or CHI for some good young assets + 1 future first rounder. I’m then hoping for a Donovan trade to a perennial cellar dweller like Orlando or Sacramento for 1 good young asset and as many future 1st rounders + pick swaps as possible.
 
FWIW Checketts asked Tony Jones about Walden's reporting that Miami made the Jazz an offer for Mitchell and TJ said it doesn't matter at all because the Jazz are not trading Mitchell right now unless they get about 6 first round picks back.

If the Heat are able to trade Herro for two unprotected Kings picks or something wild like that I would be just fine with Duncan, Jovic, all teh Miami picks and the Kings picks… I just don’t value Herro a ton and think he’d hate coming from Miami and landing in Utah.
