When the Godfather Ainge tells you to keep your mouth shut if you want the package, you keep your mouth shut.I just think if Don to NY was happening those dudes would totally telegraph it. They aren't real quiet about what they do.

You're impossible because you know my logic is sound. You're just being CyYeah, no teams who tank ever tank back bad contracts. Thats so rare.
*this is sarcasm*

You're never objective and always as difficult as possible. In what world?
The Jazz will be tanking. You're never objective and always as difficult as possible.

But NY had good expirings they paid to dump. The Jazz will be tanking.
Why on Earth would they shy away from taking on bad contracts? Are they trying to sign Lebron next year?
Explain it because the burden of proof is on you because tanking teams have been taking on bad contracts for decades to acquire more future assets.
Tony has said as much... and it makes sense. Plan A - Retool around Donovan... well it turns out no one wants to give great win-now pieces because that's really not how trades work... Plan B... BLOW **** UP!!!!Also **** changes.
People freak out because Tony Jones said "they dont want to tank" but that doesnt mean they didnt want to, then saw what was being offered, and changed their minds.
Hell and maybe someone changes their mind here soon and offers up a really great win now Gobert trade package and Utah switches courses. It's possible. Anything is possible. It's a fluid situation most likely.
I'm too lazy to look up at weird rule....if BKN trades Ben, can they receive Don?
What are you talking about?
Yes. Its the weird rule that you can't have two players that are on designated rookie deals at the same time that you traded for. Weird **** trying to protect small market teams... ends up just not working well.I'm too lazy to look up at weird rule....if BKN trades Ben, can they receive Don?
I think Donovan is actually pretty smart... and he likely knows Knicks are a damned tire fire until Dolan sells. It was telling that when the reports came out it was like Atlanta and Miami and not NY. I think he would much rather go to Miami... hanging with Jimmy... Bam is in Louisville right now with him playing pickup... he trains there... just saying. When the Godfather Ainge tells you to keep your mouth shut if you want the package, you keep your mouth shut.
But the thing is, they arent terrible if they Donovan.I think Donovan is actually pretty smart... and he likely knows Knicks are a damned tire fire until Dolan sells. As somebody who's seen his decision-making in the clutch, I agree.I dont think Mitchell is very smart when it comes to basketball.
I would love to be wrong because the NY package is much juicier than the Miami package. But the thing is, they arent terrible if they Donovan.
Hell the guy who just cooked him got added. He might have really high opinion of Brunson and Barrett. He might think he can make Mitchell Robinson look as good as Gobert. I dont think Mitchell is very smart when it comes to basketball. He's likely a guy who thinks Carmello is still a top 100 player in the NBA or something like that.
Lopo, taking on a bad contract so that you can also acquire draft capital is a very normal thing for a tanking team to do.
That wasn't the damn point of the conversation. Somebody said it's all planned to go to NY and I explained why that makes no sense. Cy busted his big head into it and twisted the context of the conversation.Lopo, taking on a bad contract so that you can also acquire draft capital is a very normal thing for a tanking team to do.
Your reasoning for it making no sense was specifically because the Jazz would take back bad contracts. That wasn't the damn point of the conversation. Somebody said it's all planned to go to NY and I explained why that makes no sense. Cy busted his big head into it and twisted the context of the conversation.
