I used to really enjoy Simmons. But his takes now are just... is he just getting old or does he just not pay any attention anymore?
He’s not paying as much attention. He does a lot and I get it… but he falls back into his old Boston homer stuff too much for a national media guy.

Go listen to hoop collective this AM. Windy knows something and McMahon knows he knows and tried to push him to put it out there… then Tim mentioned Rudy to Minny… think that’s a blow it up scenario.
It would be, we are not getting anything of value from Minny besides future picks. No one there I would want, and definitely no one who would be a win-now piece in exchange for Rudy.

If we go this route I hope we see another move for Don to just literally tear it all down and start over, accelerate the rebuild with loads of picks and young prospects.

How do we get one of these jobs where we're supposed to be experts? I ****ed up, I should've gone into broadcasting.

I couldn't believe it. Windy was dying for one of those 3 people to say, "THEY GONNA TANK!?!" and the best they could come up with is...."open up space to try and land Kevin?".

It's crazy to say the hinge point of the offseason might be Royce O'Neale, but it seems strangely possible to me. I could see them coming into yesterday feeling like if they could parlay Royce and some other non Don/Rudy players into a John Collins then they would, and/or sign some okay wings off the scrap heap then they retool, but are also prepared to nuke it if those scenarios don't come to fruition.

Well, so far, they haven't.

O'Neale definitely signaled something. Before that trade it was looking like we might just sit pat, but I think we're onto something much bigger. Lot's of things that wouldn't surprise me. Don could go to BKN, Rudy could go to BKN....The Nets are going to get a lot of stuff from the Suns+Laers(or whoever) after they trade KD and Kyrie. I also think the Trent+OG package is more alive than ever with our lack of wing depth. So much is on the table.

I used to think you had to have that commentator voice to get a big time broadcasting gig, but apparently you just have to be a clueless yes-man (or woman)

If I am OKC or New Orleans, I think I can put the most attractive trade package for KD.

New Orleans could give up Zion and CJ, and a couple of picks, and who would say no?

OKC can give up 2 young pieces and 6 draft picks to get back their man.

Brooklyn should be bidding Durant out with both of those teams.

I'd put in a waiver claim on Roby and depending on our trades

why leverage the future if your OKC when you’re far away from being a title contender

Because they could flip picks for a lot of players. A first gets you a lot these days (see Jerami Grant). Those picks could build you a very competitive roster quickly.

They're just in the infancy of their rebuild though, all of their core guys are young. Just doesn't seem like a Presti move to sell off all of his premium draft capital for a win now move.
