I'm told Donovan will only do the deal if it ruins the Utah 4th of July (the 24th of July)... so that it ruins parades, BBQs, Etc.

I have been disappointed with Don's defense for some of the last two seasons. Not all but some. Too much.

And I think it was effort more than ability.

I can get onboard with that assessment. I think he’s capable to be solid (not great). But, we haven’t really seen the effort frequently the past two seasons.

My info is from the draft so I'm not making this up. It's all interchangeable within an inch in my opinion.

Of course who Curry gets to play with makes him who he is. I just don't buy into this garbage about Brunson and Don being too short to have success. Their supporting cast is so much important than their heights.

Were you making the Poole stuff up? NBA.com says 6-5.5 with shoes, not under 6-3, as you said, and nearly a 6-7 wingspan.

lol. only about the last 45 pages of this thread happened because of it.
 
Curry is a smart defender, gets good position, gets defenders out of their shooting pocket, etc. Direct defenders shot 1.4% lower than their average when Curry was guarding them this season. Mitchell's defenders shot 4.4% higher. Having watch both of them a lot this season, Curry plays much better defense. This is clear to anyone that has spent significant time watching both.

Curry is at least an average defender, and I'd put him slightly above that due to his high BBIQ.

Donovan is a below average defender, but it is a lack of effort. He was a good defender at Louisville. He could be a very good defender if he put effort to it on and off the court (game film, etc.).

Maybe Thibs or Spoelstra can get him to buy in to the concept of defense. I think Miami would be better for him because he'd have other very good players to keep his ego in check.
