2022 Annual Jazzfanz Current NBA Draft

He is a close second. His defense keeps him from being as good as Embiid. I was trying to pick between the two of them with my 2nd pick but after a second it wasnt close for me. Scoring between the two is about the same, last year Embiid was the better 3 point shooter but its been the other way in the past. Jokic is a better passer, Embiid is a much better defender. Both are good players though. I would rather build around a two way guy though.
Yeah I've personally always thought Jokic was severely overrated but I couldn't pass on him at #7.

I probably would for defensive reasons have one of the best guard defenders Gary Trent Jr coming in a lot between the two. I see those three getting equal minutes. Beal probably subs out first and then tears the second units apart. But Trent Jr can create his own shot pretty well, so can Bojan and Oubre. But those 3 dont create much for others.
I think your spacing would be top tier and having someone like Beal/Murray on the court for all 48 minutes would give you an All-NBA level player on the ball the entire game. I do think you would've benefited from drafting a good backup PG/playmaker over Obi Toppin though.

He is great value at #7.

I could see that being a good option. I am pretty high on Trent Jr especially going forward. But could use another distibuting guard I suppose, that would probably be my 3rd pg option if the team was deeper. If its a playoff series I dont see all these 10 guys playing already.

Agreed in a playoff series when rotations shrink everything would be running through Beal/Murray/Embiid and you did a good job of surrounding them with complimentary scorers that can space the floor.

I need an elite defender on the perimeter, as a rookie he was already one of the best on ball defenders at pg. give me Davion Mitchell

So you're currently at...
PG - LaMelo / Mitchell
SG - Thompson / Cam
SF - Durant / Keldon
PF - Sabonis
C - Williams

Right? I like the Mitchell pick as it gives you much needed playmaking off the bench and a third legit primary ball handler outside of KD/LaMelo which I think was pretty important because Cam/Keldon can score but don't really provide much playmaking.

I wanted Wendell Carter as my backup center, he's one of the most underrated players in the league.
Facts. He's definitely a beast on the inside and with the boards. He even has an outside game. I actually switched the lineup up again just now, and feel much more comfortable with it. Starting Zingis, Giannis, LaVine, CJ, and CP3.

He made a pretty significant leap last season improving his ppg from 11 to 15, rpg from 9 to 11, apg from 2 to 3, and 3P shooting from 0.3 makes per game at 29% to 1.1 makes per game at 33%. If you wanted to go super big I think that he and Porzingis both have enough range offensively to play together with Giannis on the floor.

Yeah, I'm going to run the sim and keep everybody updated on how their teams are doing over a 20-40 game span to see if people want to make any lineup changes. I'm going to see how we do with Miles at the starting 4. We could use a glass cleaner off the bench, because if I'm bringing Bridges in as my backup 5 I feel like he's going to get gobbled up by other guys bigs.

I think you were absent for the All Time sim, but it was crazy. You can check it out here.

If I recall I kicked *** and we finally got the answer as to what would happen if Hakeem and Jordan ever met in the finals. Lol

Super detailed post, thanks for doing that. Will you be doing a sim for this one too?

I feel like @Domino is going to have another good sim. He got LeBron @ 6 (insanity), Kyrie, and a bunch of solid rebounders and role players. The man knows how to build a sim-centric squad, I'll say that.
