Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Kind of interesting how Quentin Grimes is viewed as being this really good prospect when Johnny Davis is 20 months younger and was a better player as a Sophomore #1 option than Grimes was as a 2nd/3rd option.
I don't know how people managed to convince themselves that Grimes is this premier asset and some even would like him over an unprotected pick from the Knicks far in the future?!? Like WTF? Grimes IMO projects at best as a 3 and D player. Now, not that this is bad, but come on... don't sacrifice high end potential for role player potential... because Grimes is still in the "potential" category. There is nothing certain about his projection going forward. Here are his fivethirtyeight projections based on his rookie season and overall profile:

Delonte West, Donte DiVincenzo, Sergey Karasev, Isaiah Joe, Furkan Korkmaz... Khris Middleton is the best comp available but he's pretty much the outlier among all 10 comps.

Just FYI you can move a TPE to another team in a trade and they can use it in the same trade. We can do some interesting finagling with our TPE's.

Yes, that helps us take extra salary from New York without it counting against us in the trade since RJ’s incoming salary counts as 26.2M.

It is likely that we could get an equal or better tier player with a Knicks pick in the next draft. He's not worth an unprotected.

Fischer said he hasn't spoken to anyone around the league who actually believes that the Jazz want to keep RJ.
