Ignoring for a moment all the economic reasons Trumpism isn't fascism, history has shown the leaders of fascist government all come to power the same way: An "emergency" is used to temporarily suspend constitutional protections and concentrate power in the hands of the executive to deal with the emergency. The executive then makes the change permanent. It is how Mussolini came to power. It is how Hitler came to power. It is how the space-nazis in Star Wars came to power.

By far, the biggest threat to bringing about fascism in the United States is California Governor Gavin Newsom who used the emergency of COVID to practically dissolve the legislative branch. Even left-leaning publications were questioning it.

I believe there is a high probability that Gavin Newsom will be the next President of the United States and you will cheer it. I do not believe Biden is fascist, but I do think his executive order writing off student loan debt will be used and built upon. The crowd will cheer the centralization of power just as they are cheering the unilateral action to erase student loan debt. The crowds always do. Trump isn't the threat. Trump is the distraction.

By leaving. Both businesses and people are leaving California. For more than a century before Newsom came to power, California had never seen a decrease in population in any year. Since 2020, even when figuring in all the people who flood over the southern border illegally, California is losing people.
 
One of his lawyers said yesterday that Trump often entertained guests in that office. I imagine him keeping three top secret docs in his desk draw in order to show his guests. I guess I don’t trust the man much….

Immigration is also down in California, feeding into the loss of population.

Meanwhile, population growth has also slowed in Texas and Florida, when figuring in all the people who flood over the southern border illegally. I guess those governors must also be threats to bring about fascism in the US.

So, he's 95% fascist. Doesn't seem like a strong objection for you.

I would think that would strongly depend on the nature and enforcement of the communications. Did Facebook initiate this conversation, or did the CDC? Is this censorship, or Facebook initiating restrictions or marking pages as unreliable?

Without more information, this could just as easily be Facebook consulting with the CDC to prevent the spread of misinformation. In particular, the reference to VAERS indicates that it's about controlling the spread of covid-19 vaccine misinformation. You don't think Facebook has any interest in that for itself?

One of the major parts of the CDC mission is to promote accurate information on infectious diseases. I don't see how it doing so is particularly interesting. Facebook/Twitter probably don't have many infectious disease specialists on their payroll, so who should they consult about misinformation?

Given the CDC's rather abysmal record on vaccine information and it's recent admission of how poor a job they did how do you feel about what was or wasn't censored in terms of what was or wasn't "misinformation" and who should or shouldn't be the judge of such ??

1) Nothing was censored, because censorship is something done by governments, which Facebook/Twitter are not (yet).
2) I recall an admission about the poor handling of the response to covid-19 initially (and monkey pox, as well), but I don't recall any such admissions on vaccine information. Do you have a link?
3) Perhaps the CDC record is "abysmal", but it's information is still multiple magnitudes of higher quality than the antivaxxer posts Facebook and Twitter are trying to fight.
4) Who's a better choice for a judge? To whom should Facebook and Twitter have gone? If you don't have a better source, what's your alternative for Facebook/Twitter?
 
Sad to see the vocal people on this board are almost still completely lost as to what is actually happening, a sign they should search for new info sources. It should be an obvious indicator that a lot of the idiots that consistently spread false info have been relieved of duty (Madcow, Stelter, Cuomo, etc). Additionally, the mainstream media is hardly even relevant now because they've lied and pushed things that divide us, and the majority of people are waking up.

Thankfully, Trump is more protected by the highest level of our military than any person in history. You've probably heard that you are watching a movie, that's true, but some of you are confused on who wrote the script. All of you should go watch the military salute when Biden was installed. How was it different than other presidents? Perhaps you've noticed that many times Biden's "military" servicemen outside helicopters/fake White House etc. have no badges/ribbons etc visible, but sometimes they do. Even Biden knows he didn't win. Exciting times, we are privileged to live during this. We haven't even got into the worst problem there is: human/child trafficking. Dark to Light.

When the government asks private companies to censor information, this becomes the issue. How do you know nothing was censored? I provided a link that the government asked to take down a parody account. I think that is censorship. Plus we don't have the all the information yet. The DOJ is "refusing to produce communications between the most senior officials and social media companies". Why hide it, if everything is square?

This is the beginning and will continue with shutting down all stories that would hurt any administration. Why suppress the information?

Why do they have to go to the government? Okay, let's use this example. If Trump gets reelected and his administration pushes information they want out into the public and asks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to censor anyone who posts information that goes directly against their message, you would be for that? Because they are the government? Why use any other source.

I would rather have the government stay out of private companies. If I was a Social Media company, why wouldn't you want to have many medical professionals put out information and a person can choose to what to read or research.

I saw a large van in my neighborhood a few weeks ago. It looked like they were raiding my neighbor's house. Taking everything, including furniture and boxes from the garage. The house was completely emptied out in about a day and a half. And you know what? After the van drove away, NO ONE HAS SEEN THEIR 2 CHILDREN IN THE NEIGBORHOOD, NO SIGN OF THEM AT ALL!!! QANON is obviously alive and well. I wonder if Hillary herself was driving the van.
