It's hilarious for you clowns to call for people to keep a level head about the vets. I agree about Corbin. He hasn't even had his chance. But the vets? C'Mon man. What is taking you so long to see what kind of players they are. They suck and they aren't getting better. They are slow, flat footed, no game, no hustle, hacks.

Finally some sanity.
On a side note GoJazz 79 was GoJazz1-78 really already taken??
Usually by the second-to-last pre-season game the coach has a rotation solidified and players have begun to gel. I saw none of this last night -- it looked more like the first pre-season game.
Screwed.
My beef is really with the vets. Supposedly they've been chomping at the bit the get back on the court.......obviously. You'd think that, at worst, the guys who've been around the block would be able to muster some sort of rhythm or semblance of an offense to start things off, but what I saw was a lot of standing and watching. Maybe they were paralyzed with excitement to get back on the court finally.
Thats my beef, this next one is more about being perplexed. I can't figure out why Corbin didn't try and mix lineups at all. Wholesale changes aren't really going to tell us who works together, IMO. I'd have liked to see how AJ and Favors would have worked together, maybe toss Burks in with the starters to see if he can get the D to collapse and kick, maybe CJ and Al with the young guys etc. (I didn't include Memo and Raja because its my belief that they shouldn't be allowed into NBA arenas through the team entrance).
I'm not going to freakout over the first pre-season game but thats what I saw.
That's true.To be fair most vets don't do much in a preseason game because they dont wanna get hurt.
I think there are a few simple things to take away from last night:
1) Favors can play. He only has a few moves and an improving jumper, but he can parlay that into 25/12 simply because he's just awfully difficult to match up with physically. He has too much strength up high to stop.
2) Kanter can rebound. Yes, he's got his work cut out for him, but as long as he's rebounding on both ends, he's not hurting the team.
3) Okur is kind of back, but never had the mobility to play the PF spot and doesn't have the defense to hold down the C spot. He's got to come off the bench, if that.
4) Burks has lots of potential.
5) Raja Bell is not likely to be better than last year. Why would he be?
6) Hayward is an important facilitator. He's a confident ball handler and passer, and he needs to be on the floor to keep things moving. His all-around game is still developing.
