He judges people based on their face? Eh, I guess we all do.
I really recommend the Severance. It's been a long time since a show got me so hooked up. Can't wait for the second season although I would prefer it to just have a couple extra episodes in the first season to close the story. I hope they will keep the level. I hate this tendency of milking the money cow by making more and more seasons of the shows.
I haven't seen Maniac, will give it a try. I agree that Severance is not something super original, it made me think about the Homecoming or some episodes of Black Mirror. But it's well made and I enjoyed it a lot, the music of the intro, acting (John Turturro and Christopher Walken are amongst my favourite actors). My buddy loved this. I watched half of it. It was fine. But it felt too much like Maniac (Jonah Hill, Emma Stone), Lost (to a lesser degree) and other similarly thematic productions.

Homecoming was a really good podcast before it was a show. Lots of good actors in the podcast. There was only the one season as a podcast asfaik but it's damn good.Yes, it’s quite similar to Homecoming as well. I enjoyed that more. The direction on that is ****ing good as ****. Some really great camera **** they seemingly randomly work in every once in a while. 70’s tv show camera ****.
I've watched through episode 8. It's been everything it was hyped to be. Good acting, standard plot, interesting take on the world.Anyone want to talk about the Sandman?
Does Walken do a British accent? Because that could be entertaining. The Outlaws on prime is good. 2 seasons. British show with Christopher Walken. We've enjoyed it.
No, he plays the guy he always plays, himself. But he's brilliant and the end of season 2 his story arc had my wife and me in tears.Does Walken do a British accent? Because that could be entertaining.
I started watching 12 monkeys and just couldn't get into it. Might try again another time though.I loved Severance. That the kind of show im always looking for despite the fact that they always disappoint in the end. Lost, Wayward Pines (fantastic book trilogy btw), twin peaks, and the one that I think is the best tv show of this style of all time The Leftovers.
I think I may watch the 12 Monkeys tv series (based off the movie). Anyone watched that?
I have that one on my list (LOTR). Watching the movie Nope right now and liking it so far but im guessing the ending will suck. I really like that lead actor. Same dude from Get Out. He is fantastic.I started watching 12 monkeys and just couldn't get into it. Might try again another time though.
Right now trying to slog my way through the Lord of the Rings show on Prime. It's rushed and feels contrived to just set up the movies, instead of staying true to the mythology and history of Middle-Earth, although they are checking the boxes to get the main characters in their starting positions.
We're getting a backlog over here, too. Lot's of good shows either just came out or are airing now.I have that one on my list (LOTR). Watching the movie Nope right now and liking it so far but im guessing the ending will suck. I really like that lead actor. Same dude from Get Out. He is fantastic.
im looking forward to She Hulk. Looks fun. Have to wait until all the episodes are out though. Also House of the Dragon is on my list. The Patient (steve carrell) looks really good. Handmaids tale new season. The Bear. Ken and Barbie Killers. Reservation Dogs season 2. Those are the next shows for me. Probably sprinkle some movies in there too. The Northman, Thor, 13 lives, Barbarian, Dont Worry Darling.

The tough thing is adapting anything from the Silmarillion and keeping the same characters throughout to build audience connections is nearly impossible without drastically altering the timeline. These stories cover thousands of years. And there is substantial time between main character arcs, as mostly the main happenings are told from the perspective of a single person. Not many of these overlapped that much, but they have to bring them together kind of artificially so they can drive plot and get audiences bought into the nostalgia.Loving Rings of Power's pace. It's going to have 5 seasons so I am more than fine that the show is taking its time. Really felt burnt out by all those shows that fast forward from plot point to plot point. The show has its ups and downs but its ups are very Tolkienian and aside from the time compression and some small stuff, I haven't seen anything lore-breaking or something that's anti-Tolkienian.
