Give him time to get the pace & competition down. He's still raw, and young, and he's not doing too bad on offense. Defense will likely fall into place over time.

He's "defense pesting" his way into screens and letting his man put him on his outside shoulder. being active with your hands is not a substitute for footwork.

Markkanen with 17 pts on 9 shots is impressive against the length and athleticism of Toronto. Lauri isn't struggling like Beasley and Clarkson.

He's killer coming off that flare screen for the open 3. It requires someone with real size to close out on him.

Kessler moves much more smoothly than Poeltl at about the same size. That's what stands out to me. Poeltl kind of lumbers around.
