Too late Tony, Cy has already declared him a bust, so. . .
Man you are really in your feelings about someone having a different opinion than you over a single game.Too late Tony, Cy has already declared him a bust, so. . .

I'm keeping an open mind on Sexton but he's not going to be developing as a playmaker next to JC who is just out there looking for his own shot. It got real sloppy in the 2nd half with guys not moving the ball especially some of the veteran players.Until Sexton emerges as a legitimate scorer/creator and not a guy who was just feasting on a ****** *** team, the Jazz have no one who can create for themselves or others at any kind of decent level.
The good news? We have some tank commanders.
Pretty good takeaways, but I do think KO looked way better than his box score.A few takeaways:
** Beasley is a spot-up shooter. Full stop. He needs to be squared up with his feet set and needs open looks.
** Olynyk is a backup. He's not a starter. I don't think the Jazz actually have a starter at the 5.
** There's no one on this team setting screens to shake guys loose like Rudy did. It might be worth playing Dok just to set screens and rebound.
** Conley is still a good floor leader who sees the floor and moves the ball with pace, but he doesn't have much to work with aside from Markkanen.
** Markkanen is about the only guy the Jazz can go to in the half court. He'll probably be our leading scorer.
** I don't think Sexton is actually a point guard. Today he looked better playing off the ball.
I'm not trying to be negative on Sexton, just saying until he proves it, he isnt it.I'm keeping an open mind on Sexton but he's not going to be developing as a playmaker next to JC who is just out there looking for his own shot. I don't think Olynyk added anything to today's starting lineup either. Conley can still play. Beasley can shoot but he needs to be fed. I liked what I saw of Markannen in the first half. He has some potential to rebound and bring the ball up the floor. I like Vandy but he's so limited offensively. Gay is washed. JC is still JC and looking for his own shot every time down the floor which is not a great fit on this current team. NAW has some untapped potential and would like to see more of him playing alongside Sexton or Conley. I thought Kessler was fine in his first preseason game.
If you want to lose every game by 30 sure. You cant just throw in young guys who have no shot at competing if you want to develop a good culture. I think the Jazz actually want to get out of this tanking phase with a lot of pieces they think they can keep. They dont want to just throw them out there and lose, shoot their confidence, and move on.I think some of you are overreacting to this game from a winning standpoint. You can't take anything from this game when it comes to that. My issue is I have zero interest in watching any of these vets play over younger guys. Nothing is worse for developing younger players than garbage time like we saw today because it is always crappy and chaotic basketball. They need to be given consistent minutes that actually mean something during a game.
Sexton and Clarkson together is a nightmare scenario. I really don't want Clarksons selfish playing style anywhere near these young guys.I'm keeping an open mind on Sexton but he's not going to be developing as a playmaker next to JC who is just out there looking for his own shot. The Jazz vets arent good enough to win them games, but they are good enough to not be completely trashed like our young guys. There's value in keeping them around until the right deal comes along or they expire.
