Malone is the Master Roshi of retired NBA players. Weathered maybe, but he's an outdoorsman.
Weathered. And losing some muscle mass, and the fact that he never carried much fat anyway, and as you age your skin doesn't bounce back anymore in response to body mass gains or losses, so as he loses body mass, and doesn't add any fat on top of it, his skin hangs more loosely. It's just the way it is. He could still probably give us 10 productive minutes per night off the bench, odds are he is in that kind of shape. Dude is a machine. Stockton probably could to. I would lobby to sign both of them to short deals if we are flirting with getting a ring to correct the travesty of them being the best duo to never win one. Stockton with weapons like Lauri would dominate. And in short stretches I bet both of them could still be effective. Would be fun to see anyway, get them their rings.
Eh, what does he know?Stockton was in town for a game 2-3 years ago and joined the commentary for a few minutes. Bolerjack asked him if he thought he could still play for 10 minutes and Stockton was shocked at the question and said he could run up and down the floor no problem but wouldn't be able to do anything useful.
I ran into him in a sportsman warehouse in Alaska last sumner. We had quite a conversation and he was lean, but looked great. He's a really fun guy to talk to when he's up there in his element. He has a lodge right on the Kenai river.

Posty was wearing a Karl Malone jersey at the concert in SLC last night. Good show. He's a HUGE dork, but he knows it and has written some great tunes. I was hoping for more of a contact high from the crowd and left disappointed. Overall a fun night at the viv.
Nah, this is the season to embrace all of the ridiculous notions. We are 6-2 so obviously we have shifted into bizarro-world. Bring back Stock to Malone off the bench for the ringz!!This (except for the part about playing them in the nba as 60 year olds)

He let my wife give him a big hug. She's crushed on him forever and I'm fairly certain if he'd have ask her to run off with him she would have. Would have been a cool story and in return all I would ask was to be able to use his lodge for a couple of weeks every summer
He looks better than 99% of people his age. His skin is just more worn because of his time spent outside.
You know you lose muscle mass as you age, especially when you aren't taking the same steroids you were taking as a player.
His clothes are falling off his body, he's had dramatic changes to his face and body over the course of 1 year. Normally when changes that fast happen it's due to cancer, or another illness. The dude is 59. His hair is now mostly white. He's going to age.
He did something for The Utah Food Bank like a year ago and showed off his chest and he's still a lean beast.
Or maybe he just decided carrying around a ton of weight wasnt ideal as he aged and he decided to lose weight. His clothes are falling off his body, he's had dramatic changes to his face and body over the course of 1 year. It's possible. Maybe he went lean. That Pendleton looks like it's a 6X, so maybe he's just wearing a baggy *** shirt and covering up the lean muscle.Or maybe he just decided carrying around a ton of weight wasnt ideal as he aged and he decided to lose weight.
Purely a guess. but i guess that the world top10 cyclists, alpine climbers (i.e somebody similar to Reinhold Messner), sherpas, marathon runners and Ironmans at his age or older are all better in basketball than he is? Yes, Malone is taller, but can he play full 48 minutes against those guys? I.e i guess that current top10 basketball players who are at least 60 years old - they have never played a single game in NBA (but might have got medals or titles on another sport event).Weathered.
