Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Deron and Humphries put up great numbers for NJ in their opening win over Washington.

Williams barely missed a triple-double with 23/8/8.
Humphries 21/16.
Okur played 21 mins, went 0-3 but had 5 boards and a steal.
Gaines 7/4/4 in 18 mins...not too bad.
DeShawn managed to get his sweats off, apparently, and was credited for 1 min.

Guess Kris isn't too broken up over his breakup with Kim. Either that, or he pictures her face on the ball and goes after it with a vengeance.

Interesting that Humphries got booed. Guess the Kim K adoration continues.

A year ago I would never have guessed that I would pay attention to Nets games.

all 5 former jazzman on the court together tonight.. pretty weird I must say:).

i dunno, maybe this should go somewhere in the Jazz forum, it's a bunch of Jazz related tweets:

@RobertJamis Larry Miller would do anything Sloan wanted. His son would not. It was and is a different situation.

Miller Sr. would do anything Sloan and O'Connor asked for. Sloan quit in midseason. QUIT suddenly. He had lost his big advocate, the owner.

Miller Jr. wouldnt re-sign Boozer, wouldnt match Matthews, dumped Maynor for salary, wouldnt re-sign Korver. wanted profits out of Jazz.

one of the myths about D-will is that he drove Sloan out of Utah. Sloan knew Jazz were cutting back with the father-son ownership switch.

Okur had nice game ( 10pts,8reb,3ast) for Nets, but they lost to Cavs anyway.

I think this pretty much summarizes the NJ Nets.

With rival executives doubting that the Magic would be interested in the Nets' offer of Brook Lopez and draft picks for Dwight Howard, it could be that Deron Williams is already frustrated in a losing situation in New Jersey.

"I don't think he feels it there," said a person familiar with Williams and his tendencies. "I could see him saying, 'I've got all the money. I can go back to Dallas. That's my home.' I don't see any spunk in his game right now. He's going through the motions."

Yeah he is gone. Cant help but feel a little bad for Net fans, but I do love that the Billionaire ruskie is learning money really cant buy you everything.

Sounds like Deron apologists on this board after Sloan left and shortly after Deron was traded. NJ fans and media will change their tune once Deron leaves them high and dry this offseason, and Billy King will very likely lose his job.

Looks like Okur left the game with back issues again. Looks like that Exception and 2nd rounder was worth it after all.

Shouldn't be a huge surprise. Okur has had back spasms the last several years. I hope KOC uses the exception. I think it really depends on how the season develops. If it looks like the Jzz might make the playoffs and GS is near the bottom of the standings, there might be more incentive to use the exception (i.e. if there's a likelihood Utah will have no draft picks).

So when new Jersey plays Chicago it is basically a jazz scrimmage.
