Any word on the extent of the injury?
Might hurt our t wolves draft pick but also helps our playoff positioning possibly. The season of win win continues.

I'd like to think the Timberwolves did the Gobert trade after consulting Jazzfanz and seeing how much most people here love Gobert and considered Mitchell overrated.

We did it everybody. Lopo of course tried to ruin everything, fortunately he was drowned out by the rest of us.

They sure as hell didn't consult their own stars

Minny looks terrible tonight. If they dont realize it soon, and if GSW does not tank, they may end bottom 4 at West conference. Feel sad for Rudy but the worst they are, the better for us.

The wolves would be so much worse with Mitchell than with gobert. As it is Gobert is the only one playing defense at all. With Mitchell it would be...KAT? Yikes.

Not only that but KAT has never been able to control the paint. He is softer than a baby wipe tissue.

They really had no options but to get a real big, who can play against the other true bigs. Was Rudy the best fit? Maybe not. But I think they were doomed from the start since both their franchize cornerstones are just flat out flawed. Ant is still in his 3rd year just a model of inconsistency and not a reliable leading scorer at all, and while KAT is more reliable offensively he is still soft.

The bad news... Minny clearly has the talent to turn the ship around.

The good news... They have a league leader collection of headaches, divas, and primadonnas to force the franchise to blow things up and we have all of their picks for a decade so that isn't an option.

To make matters worse for them, they owe $77 million (2023/24), $92 million (2024/2025), and just shy of $100 million (2025/2026) to Gobert and KAT before any other players. Surely they will extend ANT and be in luxury tax on those 3 incompatible characters.

Danny Ainge has apparently been watching lots of domination tube videos. Sheesh. This doesn't look like it will turn out well for Minny.

I don't know that they do. Ant needed to improve and I honestly think he is either exactly the same or slightly worse. Watched him botch like 3-4 lob passes to Rudy last night.

KAT has always been a paper tiger but then his impact on winning is "meh". D-lo has picked things up but he misses like 20 games a year. Kyle is under-rated still but also not a great fit with Rudy. I like Naz, Nowell, and McDaniels but those are all guys looking to establish their own value.

I think they have the talent of a 45-50 win team but the parts don't fit well and now they really don't like each other when they should be in the honeymoon phase. Edwards is a problem imo... the attitude is cute as an up and comer but as a guy trying to be the man on an awesome team... you better back that **** up or it gets old fast. They are constantly teetering on the brink of meltdown it seems. If they struggle the next 10 or so games I can see them missing the play in or barely sneaking in only to lose in the first game.

And as much as I hate to admit it (since i was/am big time team gobert) lopo is looking like he was right and we were wrong lol.
No way would cleveland trade Mitchell straight up for Gobert but I bet the t-wolves make that trade with no hesitation. Its amazing how much we got for gobert. Might be one of the most lopsided trades of all time. Mitchell on the other hand is averaging 29.2 points per game (career high) on 50.2% from the field (career high) and 42.9% from three (career high) and 89.3% from the line (career high). His team is 3rd in the east behind only the bucks and celtics (possibly the two best teams in the entire league) and he only just turned 26 so he is just hitting his prime of his career. He is a legit MVP candidate. Guaranteed all star.

Its good they have Poole. He makes the loss not as huge as it would be otherwise.

Lopo wasn't the only one ready for a change on Gobert. That contract is debilitating. He is easy to scheme against in the playoffs. His attitude wasn't his best quality. And there were signs that Mitchell played better defense when he was off the court vs on the court.

But Lopo was the loudest.

Also, Mitchell was a tremendous defender in college and it felt like Quinn told Mitchell to save his energy for the offense.

Needless to say, Markaanen, Sexton, and 4 picks for Mitchell still feels like a great return even knowing what we know now because Spida was not staying in Utah long term.

LoPo was super overboard but a lot of what he said had some merit behind it. I was getting **** on for saying Gobert is about to hit the wrong side of 30 and his contract would become an issue. You just can’t pay someone that much and them not have the ability to take over a playoff game.

LoPo's biggest issue to me was being wildly anti-Rudy but then ignoring all of Don's flaws.

Right, the correct answer was always somewhere in the middle. Both guys were flawed and it was time to move on from both. Mitchell was opting out and leaving as soon as he could so keeping him wasn’t a smart option either.
