Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I hope someday there is an Ainge biography that is titled "Talks Broke Down When Danny Asked for Multiple FRPs - The Danny Ainge Story"

It would be pretty cool to know all the deals that never happened and what exactly was offered from each side.

From a talent perspective they are but from a fit perspective I'm not sure. The hawks at least have that one guy in Trae Young that has shown he is capable of carrying a team for a short stretch in the playoffs but they were incapable of building on that success and actually regressed over the last few years. When looking at the hawks I'm not sure how to fix it either. They should be so much better than they are currently and when you look at the roster it seems like the talent should compliment each other. Collins should be thriving as a stretch big but instead has completely regressed. De'Andre Hunter looked like he would be the ideal glue guy wing like Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby but is injury prone and has regressed defensively over the last few years. If I'm the hawks front office I would probably just let this season play out and hope things finally click rather than making a mediocre trade like Collins for Crowder.
Best players elevate others around them. Trae doesnt.

Capela been on a decline ever since coming to Atlanta... despite playing with one of the most fearless and elite lob passers in the league. Collins been declining for 4 years and his development curve from that time looks like that of a 35 year old.. yet he is 25. Hunter is still on the same level he was in his rookie year. Huerter left and is immediately having the best season of his career.

Its either Trae or Atlanta has one of the worst player development in the league.

Top 3 qualities I would want in a trade.
1. A high level athlete that can defend, rebound and run plus has some juice on the offensive side.
2. A playmaker near to the level of Conley.
3. A Markannen like player
4. An enforcer, dirty as can be. Jae Crowder?

I think Jared Vanderbilt after a couple of years could fulfill 1 and 4 but right now he isn't getting it done.
NAW could evolve and be even better but can we wait?

We need some high level passing and perimeter defense so bad.

If Danny wants FRP's for Vando/Beasley he might need to do it soon. I feel like their value could be dropping the past few weeks especially Vando. The interior defense has been complete crap lately so what's the point of playing Vando and his energy if they are going to surrender so many easy baskets in the paint anyway. Beasley has been having way too many of these ineffecient 3 for 15 shooting nights. We already have JC that can do that. I'd rather give those shots to one of our more efficient shooters when Beasley is having those off nights anyway.

Both will also be considered expiring contracts by the time we get to the offseason since they can become UFA's in '25. Any team that acquires them now could have them for the stretch run this season plus next season on very reasonable contracts especially in Vando's case. I agree if PHX wants them for CP3's final shot at a ring they need to pony up. They can really use reinforcements with their current injuries.

I promise you Beasley's value changes 0% with a few bad performances or a few great performances. He is what he is. And Beasley is basically our most efficiet non-Lauri shooter. He's the guy you want taking shots regardless of how hot or not he is.

And I dont see how JV's value is going to drop too much given he is having a career year. Some teams are really going to value him and some aren't.

And trades generally dont happen now. Teams are going to wait til the last second because everyone wants the best deal possible.

^When I referred to "soon" I obviously meant by the deadline.

Kindly ignore my posts in the future, troll. Thanks in advance.

At this point I think pretty much every gm knows what Beasley is. He is a 3pt specialist that can get red hot but also has plenty of ice gold games. Vando is definitely more of an unknown quantity. He is in a funk offensively right now which has led to him being a little bit passive in every aspect of the game. This is not surprising though since most players go through hot and cold stretches throughout the season.

Why would you replace Trae with JC? So dumb. Obviously they should trade Collins he sucks *** but not to the jazz they won’t do that he doesn’t fit on this team at all or any team really.
dumb is claiming someone said something they didn't say smh Did you even bother to read my post??? I said Dejounte Murray to the Jazz for JC and first. This helps the Jazz with a 2 way playmaker, especially if they are not trading and plan on only using Sexton at the 6 or the starting 2 guard as needed for more offense. It also would possibly work for ATL to get a 6moy in JC to fill that scoring role they are lacking behind Trae, and is versatile enough to play off him like he has played off Mike.
You are mixing stories here. the Collins to Utah thing is another story all together, and the Trae wanting a trade has been gaining steam in the past week , even if YOU don't think they would try to move him. I argue that it will be easier for them to trade Dejounte and the Jazz should have interest.

Man, this post just made you seem dumber if you think Atlanta is gifting us Dejounte for JC and a first (though I doubt the Jazz would be thrilled to do that either given the chances of Dejounte staying in Utah past 2024 would be slim)

Murray would cost more than JC and a 1st.

For those wondering about Beasley and his "career year" he is shooting 8 for 36 on 3's the past 4 games bringing his season average down to just over 38% which is his career average.

Good lord brother. I said JV was having a career year. I said Beasley is what he is and a few bad or good games isnt going to change that. Thanks for confirming what I said by showing he's right at his career average.

Beasley has been fine though lately a bit too shot happy. It wouldn’t matter if we didn’t have JC and Sexton who are also hunting shots… and honestly it’s kind of worked but when Jc and Beasley are both off you get ugly *** nights… it’s not happened a lot but my god I wanted both just to make the simple pass last night.

I would be good trading or keeping JV or Beasley… not gonna move them unless a first or really good player is involved. I think it’s more likely a first comes up for JV… in the Phoenix deal I might settle for 1 good pick for both (2024 top 8 protected then goes to top 4 in 2025). Assuming we put some effort in a tank and only take back expiring deals.

I'll never understant these takes. Are we watching the same player?? Vando is terrible. You could replace him with a ****ing chair out there and the chair would be more of a scoring threat. (Not to mention it wouldn't insist on dribbling the ball up court for no reason after a rebound.) Maybe there was a slight chance of a first when this team was on fire to start the season, but lately JV has been exposed and his trade value has fallen off a cliff.
