Lakers have an uncanny knack for moving up in the lottery.
We just gave up nearly half of our rotation to tank this year. With some bad draft luck we could easily be looking at lottery finish in the next 3-5 years.Jazz will not be a team picking in the 30's in those years lmfao.
You have to right? Such a poor return we have to be unloading it all for there to be any sense to it.Also, with this deal, the Jazz have to trade away Clarkson, right?
This is Danny committing to making this team terrible. Are we going to follow through?
Indeed they do…..Lakers have an uncanny knack for moving up in the lottery.
All it takes is for one big name FA to sign with the Lakers and they will be in a strong spot again comes 2027. Absolute zero excuse not to get that 2029 first from them.I was just thinking this. Lakers will probably find a way to be good. And if they do somehow blow it up, what is the protection?
I feel we got totally robbed.
This is the only downside of this deal. Russell was shooting flames out his *** for like 6 weeks doe... so may not be as much improved.Stupid trade got the Timberwolves better therfore making the t Wolves pick worse. Wtf?

Probably because this deal gave us the best possible asset and was a way to free up money in 2023 off-season. AThis is absolute *******. How the hell did we turn 3 rotation players into only one protected first round pick in this seller’s market?

A billion picks, a young all star, a rookie stud center, at least one lotto pick this year, and 60M in cap space (if JC walks)
Guys... I think we will be okay.
I would like to know the answer to this as well.Top 4 protected pick, smh, what if it doesn't convey in 2027?
even with most of that probably true at this point, 1 protected pick from a storied franchise years away from now, is a terrible asset to be proud of having. Here's what I think:
1) Jazz want to tank for this draft.
2) Jazz want Lakers to increase the chances that the Twolves' pick ends up in the lottery
3) Jazz want off Conley's money for next year
4) Jazz are done with Vanderbilt and aren't keen to re-sign Beasley either.
