What's new

Korver signs with Bulls! (3 yrs/15 mil)

Offseasons for a jazz fan is kinda like going to yard sales in the afternoon--you know all the good stuff is gone and all the steals too, but theres lots of stuff sitting around that will go for cheap.

Brilliance.

Will miss KK. He was really only good at one thing but never dogged it on the court so will always have my respect. Lets not fool ourselves though, when Stern called Hayward's name we knew Korver was irrelevant.

Meh. He's a great shooter and a great hustle player, but not much else. He at least tries on defense, but are the Bulls really going to be any better with Booze/Korver than we were?

I liked Kyle but what can you do... I'm not happy about anything right now. I almost get the feeling we're willing to fold the season for cap space. With those two gone now to the bulls and AK coming off the books next year we'll be 30mil under the cap and be able to sign two max FA haha Ugh...

I think Korver was underappreciated and misused. Contrary to popular belief, he was a better defending wing than CJ, Ronnie, Harpring and Andrei. It's a pretty good price for him, but I'm not sure what the front office is waiting for (someone to fall on our lap for free?)

I can't believe this garbage. If we sign Lips, I swear I will stop being a Jazz fan.

whats the point of playing, with the super powers in the nba now, small market teams like us have no chance...

What? The reason Korver is gone is because we let him go. He certainly didn't 'bolt'. Unless you're making reference to the fact that Miami and LA are so stacked that we may as well roll over.

It sucks to see Kyle leave, I really liked him. However, with the drafting of Hayward, I agree with the idea that it made KK irrelevant on this roster. Hayward showed some nice shooting range in the summer league. Obviously, he wasn't putting up the shots in volume, but it was still encouraging none the less.

Also, I think it's already obvious that Hayward is going to have some facets to his game that KK just didn't have. Hayward will be able to create his own shot, and will probably be light years better than KK in regards to being able to drive to the hoop and creating contact. KK didn't possess that ability in any way, shape or form. And then there's the passing ability which already seems to be heavily tilted in Haywood's favor.

It certainly seems like Hayward can turn out to be a decent to slightly above average 3 point shooter with a much more well-rounded game than KK. As sad as it may sound, adding Hayward and letting KK walk may be the only area in which Utah has clearly gotten better so far this offseason.......

I'm with you here. If it means acquiring two great players in Deron's last contract year, maybe we just limp around for another 82. **** it right?
