it would be amazing for the jazz if the draft were to shake out like that. so many great options at each pick. please let that happen.

whitmore, george or black with the first pick. wallace, hendricks, rupert, miller, flip, hawkins, howard, etc with the second pick and GG, Clowney, Sidy, etc with the last pick. damn. dream draft right there no matter who you like.

my relationship with whitmore has been up and down. he was the best player in basically every off season exhibition and tournament they played in and the U18s sealed the deal where he was the best player by a country mile. i would have taken him at #2 if i didn't have anything else to go by. then he missed the first few games this season with the thumb injury and was so sloppy with the ball after coming back. then he didn't really get better. continued to make a ton of mistakes, mostly with the ball (still quite good defensively and showed the ability to make shots, though not at a great clip. lately, i've come back around a tad, but i still worry a lot about his ability to make plays with the ball and not look like an idiot. but he's good and his potential is off the charts. there haven't been many guys like him in terms of explosive athleticism and sheer power/size/strength. there have been other big, athletic wings, like miles bridges, jaylen brown, etc - but imo, he has a chance to be a level above from a power standpoint - almost like a mini lebron in a way. i'd take him as high as 4, but i'd feel more comfortable around 6-8 range.

In a spaced-out game with pace (the way the Jazz have played this year), he's going to be pretty unstoppable getting to the rim.

The Ringer's mock looks more informed to me than some others. KOC has the Jazz taking Anthony Black at #9 and GG Jackson at #16. Jazz miss out on Cam Whitmore, who goes #8, and Jarace Walker, who goes #5. Taylor Hendricks and Kris Murray are also off the board at #16 in this scenario. I have to believe that the Jazz want to get one of the superior athletes at the top of the draft -- Scoot, Amen, Ausur or Cam.

i see nsj as a clarkson, jamal crawford type - maybe with better defense. that's a damn good player, but not sure i want to use a top 7 pick on that. combo guard, microwave scorer off the bench. i like that archetype a ton, tbh - i;d just rather get that in the late teens or 20s than early lottery.
I think he is seen more of a playmaker than what he has shown on a team where he isn't needed to be one much since coming back from injury.
I don't like him for us as more than a project that needs time in the weight room either though, probably needs another year at ARK to get stronger and prove he is the best player on that team. right now he is fighting with Black for that honor which aint saying much

i'd love to see him back another year - no chance in hell that happens, btw - to get a better read on him whether he is more than just a scorer and to see if he can be somewhat efficient getting those points. because all we've seen at this point is a guy who is adept at getting shots up (which is a legit skill - not downplaying that), but who is wildly inefficient and doesn't really do much else out on the floor.

in his defense, the sample is very small. but it's all we've seen.

Cisoko reminds anyone else of Kyle Anderson?
A dunking Kyle Anderson with better defense. He looks like he's a past prime Lebron with a little bit slowness. That's still a good player. I think fit and supportive system will help him a lot. His improvement in shooting in the Gleague puts me over the moon for this guy.
