do any see maybe the utah jazz maybe trying to bring back ronnie brewer, and maybe making some kind of deal of landing al jefferson and emeka okafor....with the money they got from the boozer trade.

Why? What's Okafor looking like now? I didn't catch any NO games this year, but I remember Okafor being a pretty good defensive center.

Anyone thinking the Jazz could have signed Tyrus Thomas on the cheap ended up being quite delusional. He went back to the Bobcats at 5 for 40. Stunning.

i just really don't know who they are looking at for big men to man the center position....with me i just have no faith with fesenko or koufos....yes koufos play some ok ball during the summer league...but it's summer ball

They didn't get any money from the Boozer trade. To get Jefferson or Okafur they have to take on their full contracts which puts Jazz over the LT. They could have just resigned Boozer.

yes utah got 13,000,000 with the boozer trade. but the only way they can used that money if they were to make a trade to a team who is looking for to clear cap space, but utah wont lose any players if they were to make any trades.

now after watching how gordon hayward plays the he looks kinda of like a mike dunleavy jr. and jeremy evans looks more like tayshaun prince

AK is in a contract year so I imagine he'll be playing well. We can sell high on AK + the Memphis pick, and see what offers we get.
If nothing worthwhile comes along we wait out AK's contract, and become FA players next year.

well ak needs to have a strong showing so utah can get a player we want and a team that want ak service. when the 2011 trade deadline comes about.

we got some money now but any impact players are now with the heat or pretty much gone . Or they just don't want to come here. I don't have ANY faith in the jazz this year at all. With the whole lebron thing i am more looking forward more to the nba lock out, that will be the real season.

You might want to read up on what we can actually do with a trade exception. No other players can be part of the transaction. Basically all we can do is take a player from another team with a salary up to $13 million. We can't bundle picks or other players or anything. Basically the other team has to want to give us a player for nothing in return. If you think we can use it to sign a free agent, too bad ... doesn't work that way.

What's the Jazz / Blazers relationship like now that Portland fired their GM? They have a surplus at the 5 and we have a need for one. They could save money by letting the Jazz have Pryz. It appears a win - win, except I don't know how the FOs of both teams feel about each other.

well im not trying to be some expert on this site...im just trying understand some of these move that jazz make. so even just getting feed back on here i have a better understanding

They're not friendly.

It wasn't exclusive to Pritchard.

Didn't the Blazers just trade Pryzbilla? I though I remember reading that. I'll try to find the link. Seems like Jarred Bayless was in the trade also.

Thomas is gone - staying with the Bobcats. I dunno, Gortat or Thabeet? I kinda wish we could have gotten the Turriaff, Anothony Randall, Azubuike deal that the Knicks got. But right now I am just looking for the jazz to pick up some young talent.

If the Blazers were so inclined to get rid of Pryz, I think they could find a better deal than a trade exception and not to a division rival ... regardless of how the teams feel about each other.

A lot of these TPEs were done with the hope of landing LeBron. That's over, so no one will want to give away players now.
