The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

I don’t see how it’s controversial at all to say the economy does better under democratic leadership. It’s been that way for literally my entire life. We’ve seen it since George HW Bush. It’s just stating facts. Why does that bother some people so much? There’s a reason why Bush called supply side economics, “voodoo economics.” Why has that been memory holed?
Obamas economy was extremely stagnant. He had 8 years and it didn't do really anything. It wasn't terrible by any means but it wasn't great by any means outside of his typical Democrat recession which you will blame on anyone but Democrats. Clinton was good. Bush was stagnant. Trump was roaring until covid. Bidens is an absolute disaster, but people look at one little accomplishment such as jobs and are programmed to think that's some great accomplishment. It's not bad... But when people are getting laid off by the hundreds of thousands it's embarrassing to brag about.

Oh and to not spam... We wonder why Biden is absolutely destroying our Country...

James Comer to present evidence of 'criminal scheme' involving Joe Biden and family

He made the announcement in an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, on Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo. During his appearance, Comer alleged that he had compiled evidence purporting to show that President Joe Biden and eight other members of his family had received payments from the Chinese Communist Party in exchange for lobbying for Chinese interests. The payments and lobbying reportedly came during Biden's time as vice president.

"Based on the fact that nine different Biden family members have been receiving payments from a web of LLCs that are receiving payments from adversaries around the world, this fits a pattern of questionable behavior that the Biden family members have been doing to receive funds," Comer said. "So we take this whistleblower claim very seriously. We know it exists. We know the FBI has the document. I can tell you this, the Biden family have received a lot of payments from the Chinese Communist Party, from entities that are state-owned entities"

Comer announced that he had subpoenaed FBI Director Christopher Wray over a document that apparently shows direct evidence of then-Vice President Joe Biden receiving direct payments from a foreign national in exchange for policy decisions.

At some level, you do understand that these laid-off people are getting other jobs (if they want to), right?

This is common sense but I don't see the relevance. Are you saying it's a good thing that people are losing their jobs, many who have worked places for years and built up time off, built up reputation, raises, promotions? I... I... think this a very stupid point OB. Whatever point you are trying to make actually because I don't understand.

I'm saying that it's a normal thing, even in the healthiest of economies, for corporations to take chances, and then when things don't work out to have lay-offs and redirect their money elsewhere. It's part of a system called "capitalism". The only way to avoid it is to take government control of the companies and forbid layoffs. I don't think you support such a system.

Also, I don't think your considering that most people are finding better jobs after they are laid off. I always did.

Perhaps those too lazy to look for jobs outside of sports equipment sales stores should take a look at themselves in the mirror instead of projecting their misery onto the economy in general? In Utah, you can easily find good jobs. You might have to go back to school or get some training. You might have to limit your posting on jazzfanz to only a few hrs a day. But people are finding new and better jobs all the time.

Edit: hardware store. Dammit. Hardware. If you’re unhappy with your life, choose something different. In utah, you can go back to school pretty cheaply, get a degree or learn a trade. There are companies that’ll teach you to code. Stop projecting your misery onto others. The economy in Utah is awesome and the American economy is still the best in the world.

I'm just going to make this my bash your idiot president thread so I don't clutter the place with your administrations sheer incompetence.

I manage a very prominent hardware store and this is just insulting. 16 cents? Price of lumber is up 300%. A roll of 12/2 Romex used to be $65 and is now $113, probably more when I do price changes today as it's went up every few days. Copper is up over $1 per foot. Our .99(has been .99 for the 6 years I've worked here)hand soap is now $1.25. PVC has went up .10-.50 a foot, I've had to reprice my entire galvanized and gas pipe fittings TWICE (1000+ items). Truth be told I would say approximately 70% of my entire store has inflated. I am not lying about that either. Ohh I forget water heaters are up over $100 a piece. There just so much.

The most insulting part about this is they used only 12 items, selected items, to make a point. 12 items lol. Things like soda, alcohol, steak, ribs, condiments, and the hundreds of thousands of items we will use were magically left of.. 12 items. Ffs gas alone is highest it's been since Obama at more tham $1 more per gallon so with a 20 gallon tank... you know what? You do the math.

I'll use left leaning politico just to prove I'm not making things up. Inflation is the highest it's been in a long time.

Lol no it's not. Show me where 170,000(edited from 200,000) people got laid off in 3 months in tech. Back your claim up. You can't just lie and then it magically be truth. If this is normal, show me.

Not even that many people were laid off in the industry in the previous 2 years combined.

First actual post I agree with you. You can do what I did and work your *** to the off for 15 years and be your own boss and to be able to sit here all day and talk on Jazzfanz all while making stellar money. Beats mooching off of your wife and having 26,000+ post hating everything (that doesn't include the other 97,000 with your other obnoxious alt) hypocritically talking down to others. But you're right if you aren't happy with your job you can always go to school or I would suggest getting into a trade as those are always in need. That is the beauty of Capitalism. Sadly, Democrats are trying to destroy this as they are so economically void they need people like me to pay for their schooling loans that they signed up for and also need me to pay their healthcare because they mooch off their wives instead of be responsible. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of thousands without my job security, or not blessed to marry into money and have a wife that feeds the family(nothing wrong with that I just say do your part instead of Jazzfanz(at least run a vacuum or something though)).

That has nothing do with Bidens terrible economy and his mass layoffs though. It seems like you have some point outside of that but I'm not completely sure. Speaking of success, it's crazy that I am soon to get docked when I decide to buy a bigger house once Bidens housing market isn't garbage, and I will have to pay more because I pay my bills on time and have a great credit score. Punishing people like me who can actually pay my bills on time so people that don't pay their bills get easier housing. It makes no sense.

There are more people working in tech than ever before, of course the numbers are going to climb. These 25 companies alone laid off over 75000 employees in 2018.

Show me where in these numbers you see abnormally large lay-offs:

Not even that many people were laid off in the industry in the previous 2 years combined.
So? Is there a surplus of tech workers, or are they finding jobs? Looks like the latter to me. The employment level is unchanged.

You really don't understand how being laid off is a bad thing. How ignorant. The fact that these people are gettting jobs elsewhere has nothing to do with anything. AT ALL.

So yeah you flat out lied again. I'm sorry to be blunt with you but you are saying this is normal. So for once. Answer my question... Name me another year where tech laid off over 175,000 people in 4 months. For once... Just answer a question.... Please... I beg of you... 75,000 in 10 months is nothing at all compared to 174,000 in 4. Nice try though. That is 42% more layoffs in 4 months than 10 months. That is not normal. Layoffs are normal, yeah but not 175,000 in 4 months. That is far from normal. It's not even remotely close in a single iota to being normal.

"I'm saying that it's a normal thing,"-@onebrow

The running total of layoffs for 2023 based on full months to date is 168,243, according to Layoffs.fyi. Tech layoffs conducted to date this year currently exceed the total number of tech layoffs in 2022, according to the data in the tracker.

I've been laid off several times, and know it's a bad thing. What's yours solution to the problem?

It shows the economy is healthy.

There's no reason to think it should be true. The more people are employed in teck, the more layoffs occur. 5 years from now, 175,000 won't be close to a record.

75,000 in 10 months
Among just 25 companies out of hundreds of companies.

Which of the layoffs I linked to indicates a bad economy?

Tech layoffs conducted to date this year currently exceed the total number of tech layoffs in 2022, according to the data in the tracker.

According to TrueUp’s tech layoff tracker, there were 1,405 rounds of layoffs at tech companies globally through the first week of December, affecting 219,959 people.

Nah you can't answer a basic question. I'm not playing your stupid game that you constantly play . Back on ignore for a little bit as you can't even have an honest discussion. You're a smart dude you just can't be honest and stay on topic. You are very good at muddying the original point up to get it off topic. Instead of actually addressing the simple question. It's a terrible way to conversate and I keep thinking you won't do it, but you do everytime.

I'll answer my question. There's has never been 175,000 layoffs in tech in 4 months EVER, let alone 2 years COMBINED. It's not normal. Oh and thanks for adding December of 2022. That's over 350,000 layoffs in 5 months. Close to a half million jobs lost in one industry and fish and Thriller brag about 220,000 jobs created. Which is good but nothing to brag about when half a million will be laid off by July.

Brilliant point in adding even more layoffs under Biden lol. Thats even worse. My goodness.

Ohh before I go...

Another thing I can give credit to Biden for is him calling out airlines for their shady practices and also places like ticketmaster. These shady practices, amongst many others like prescription cost need to be better regulated. Now I'm not overly enthused by making airlines pay for delayed flights, though it is annoying, but things like hidden fees and price gouging.

MAGA's are usually right 99% of the time. Ultra MAGA's 100%. Meanwhile MAGA's have a legit spending plan in place(i believe anyways and all I hear is lies from the Democrats about it) that highers the limit but limits Bidens reckless spending spiraling us into a lot of trouble. Meanwhile Chuck Schumer doesn't even know anything about his own state.

"At first you have to laugh at the ‘gas stove ban’ narrative being cooked up by the MAGA GOP,"

"Nobody is taking away your gas stove," Schumer tweeted in early February. "Shameless and desperate MAGA Republicans are showing us they will cook up any distraction to divert from real issues the American people want solved, like the debt ceiling."

New York becomes the first state to ban natural gas stoves and furnaces in most new buildings

Are you confused about the difference between "take away" and "never have"?

Your ability to pathologically just make **** up is astonishing. The post was about the ban of stoves. The entire post was about ban.

I used CNN because they are a left wing Propaganda network even admitting it was a ban.

Schumer tweeted that no one is taking away the gas stoves. That was true. You said, "Chuck Schumer doesn't even know anything about his own state", indicatiing that he didn't understand what was happening. This was false.

No one indicated there was not a ban on new stoves, certainly not Schumer.

I was watching video of Joe from 2015 and the dude was sharp, quick, didn't mumble and was articulate. Hell.... Call me crazy but he doesn't even look like the same guy anymore. Now it's definitely a crazy conspiracy but you tell me this is the same Joe Biden that can't pronounce basic words or remember that he was in Ireland 12 days prior. It's quite clear he has lost a tremendous amount of brain power and functionality. It's going to happen to us all but...it's night and day... This is why he pretty much hides all day and has done the least press conferences in many decades.
