2023 NBA Draft Megathread

He's starting to draw some comparisons to Andrew Wiggins for his length, athleticism and rim finishing. I'm wondering if he'll measure close to 6'7". Given that he's only 18, he might still be growing.
Wiggins was an excellent self creator at least in terms of getting his shot off. I think it's an awful comp.

DX said he's 6'8....looking at him compared to other players on the court he's probably closer to 6'8 than 6'6. He was 5'11 two years ago so could definitely still be growing.

As far as the Wiggins comparison, maybe in those 3 areas, but he definitely does not have the offensive bag that Wiggins had. IMO the most likely scenarios are a McDaniels/Herb Jones type. A menace defensively, but fairly limited on offense. He is on a sharp upward trajectory though.

Dillon Jones unsuccessfully trying to drive. Definitely has a slow first step. Makes nice quick passes though.

Listened to Vecenie talk Leonard Miller on the athletic weekend pod. I am a full believer. I honestly think he’s gonna end up a late lotto pick… can see Toronto just drooling over that guy.

Few highlights… he has an article coming out… his body has come a long way in a short time… when from skinny kid to moving people. Had an untimely injury in HS so they don’t have as much evaluation film pre GLeague. Apparently he’s a hard worker and extremely fast learner… they would give him something to work on and a week or two later he figured it out. Kinda the same book on Donovan early in his career. Said he reminds him of Lamar Odom but Sam said he thinks he has a chance to be a better version of Odom. I buy the high potential on him… Sam isn’t usually that wild with his comps.

Also talked a bunch of GG… said he will have him 25-30 in his next round of ranking mocks… said even though the draft next year is bad that GG would go 15ish if he was guessing… so the whole narrative that he could be a top prospect or the top prospect next year sounds dated. So Barlow has him top 5 and Vecenie has him end of the first… pretty wild.

Long story short… forget GG and go get Miller.

Vecenie also had Walker Kessler like 10th in a redraft so he's kind of an idiot

9th… where would you have him? It’s a few spots off of where he should probably go but not sure what that has to do with anything. He’s been at it a while and he’s fine.

I actually think by time the draft eval process is done he’s gone by 16. OKC at 12 and Toronto at 13 I think are gonna be where his range will get started.

I watch Leonard Miller highlights and all I see is rich-man's Jarred Vanderbilt, if he keeps developing. Maybe a little bigger, probably has a bit more upside. From the stats, likely a lot better at finishing inside. But is that outside shot ever going to look better than Vando's?

Just an observation from someone who's watched far too little ...

I think he's one of the worst in terms of rankings and his content has gotten worse.

His podcast is so ******. He's the last guy I want to hear talk NBA basketball. He should just stick to draft content and college basketball

If Vando was actually good at the things people think he’s good at he’d be super valuable. Issue was rim finishing and actually being big enough to impact defense beyond making some hustles. I don’t think it’s far off but he’s bigger and should be better at just about everything Vando does including shooting.

The two most frustrating things with Vando were when he’d drive on a close out or get the ball in a pick and roll and just have no shot at finishing. The other is when dudes would go through and about him at the rim… I don’t think those will be issues for Miller.
