2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I think what factors in here for me are the medicals and the good chance he’s there at 28.
I don't think there is a good chance he's there at 28 if his medicals are good enough. If they are not... then, I don't want him at 28 either.

Neither do you? The reason I said they will have a better chance at realizing their individual upsides is coachability and work ethic. They both have A+ attitudes by all accounts... GG is ummmm.... lacking so far.

Wallace doesn't have to be spectacular on offense to be a high level starter on a playoff team. Black is a giant pg... neither are Tyler Zeller here... just because they are good functional players now doesn't mean they can't be borderline all-stars later.

GG has all the tools, and his development in the past 18 months has been pretty impressive. He's shown the ability to work and expand his game.

Correct... I think Brice is a guy you through the ball to get you a bucket. Which is why he's gonna be viewed as a bucket getter.

I'm just super impressed with Miller's production, size, good athleticism, and all the background stuff seems incredibly positive. Wonky *** shots sometimes work...Tyrese, Jaren, etc. It isn't like he needs to be a volume shooter and his FT% is good. In the G league you shoot 1 free throw for 2 points... so he should have twice as many FTs... BUT you should also factor that free throw percentage on the first free throw is lower than the second free throw... not sure any definitive research has been done on this but a quick search of the web says 3-4%. Might have more shooting potential than you think.
Miller is the most productive and efficient 18/19 year old we've seen in the G League since kids started going straight from HS to G League. He was legitimately one of the best players in the league and that has never happened with a player his age. He's being criminally underrated, IMO. Of course that could play into the Jazz's hands, so I'm fine with it.

So do Black and Wallace... except they put their tools to use in functional winning basketball. If last year was GG expanding his game then he needs to contract that **** right now.

Anthony Black has been getting mocked to the Wizards, but if they take Black it suggests they're pretty much giving up on Jonny Davis from last year. Somehow that seems a bit unlikely.

You typed it, but it makes no sense. So you arent allowed to draft two guards in a row? Even though they are completely different? Makes no sense.

they may have given up on davis (i mean, he was horrible), but it won't have anything to do with drafting black. completely different players - if they were to both pan out, they would compliment each other really well. black is a pg and davis is a wing.

Givony said the consensus at the combine is Charlotte is going to take Miller at 2.
Also said he is not in the best shape and has not interviewed well... which is contrary to earlier reports. He found out Charlotte wanted him and immediately tried to tank his value.

I really would explore trading for #3. Our best shot would be a team trading a player that Portland wants to them and we supplement that team with picks.

portland would want more than what the jazz would be willing to give (read: lauri), but sure, explore away. maybe mike schmitz does something stupid.

Where as Woj said he has been interviewing well.
That was the earlier reports I referenced. That was pre-lotto. He went and got the Harden fat suit and started talking about how Ja is getting treated unfairly in interviews.... Anything to avoid Charlotte.

Do the Wiz get a GM before the draft? What they do on the clock at 8 will be pretty key.

I think Scoot is becoming underrated. If we traded Lauri for him I would understand it. There are reasons why you’d do that.
