2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Givony/Woo came out with a new article on four players who could end up being top-3 players from this class who aren’t the consensus top-3.

Amen
Ausar
Cam
Black

After watching his podcasts, I think Locke believes that Hendrix is available at 9 and we should take him. He also seems to think Black and Wallace will be gone by 16 so Bufkin should be our pick there. That could be a pretty nice draft if we don't move up.

Black isn’t going to be there at 9 let alone 16 lmao.

A weird stat for all those late-first-second rounder guards/wings that turn into go-to options in the league after being projected as role players - rebounding... Jimmy Butler, Kris Middleton, Desmond Bane... all had high rebounding numbers - over 6-7 rbs per 40...

Saw someone mention that with Podz. It makes sense to me. 1) Rebounding reflects some degree of functional athleticism + hustle + intelligence 2) rebounding is just overrated in general for defense. Many times a player is a net positive/negative on defense just on the basis of rebounding.

You’re gonna love this but his release is weirdly long and is actually on the way down in about half those shots (by just a little).
Maybe, but these are all midrange off the dribble shots where players typically hang for balance and release a bit later.

Bufkin is a pretty good dude to plant a flag on. I want to get the Dallas pick and snag him. Or do the OKC trade to get our pick back next year and drop down to 12 and get him there. Hell, do both.

Jazz gotta be wheelin and dealin on draft night.

The two No Ceilings guys who do the film dives are definitely lower on Cam than most of this board (both have him at 9).

Don't really buy him as a 3 level scorer. Midrange game is poor. They have questions on 3 form, but nothing that isn't workable, but not high on it. Very low on playmaking potential.

One of the dudes said he trusted Jarace's shot more than Cam's. The other said he had equal trust in both as shooters, but trust Jarace to take more appropriate shots.

They are super high on both. They have Jarace at 4 and Cam at 5 on their most recent big board.

I can’t tell if OKC is sweet on Bilal or Bufkin… Bilal makes more sense but Bufkin was working with SGA in OKC and the Down to Dunk guys seem to have planted their flag on Kobe.

I think if you want Kobe you plan on getting him in front of OKC. I would support drafting him at 9 a lot more than JHS who is a meh choice at 16 imo.
