Ok comparison from the limited time watching KG..... Wait.... Wait.....
Our very own Josh Howard in the 2007 season?? I'll admit I haven't watch too much but that came to mind
Some players are better college players than they are in the pros.
I am unashamed to say that is K-G all the way.
I am in total agreement with you PKM. The first time I saw MKG play on the Junior USA team, I was impressed. He just has the "it" factor. I will be shocked if he isn't a star in the NBA. I got a similar feeling when I watched Burks play but my reaction to PKM was just WoW! I am not worried about his shot. The few games I have seen him he has shot it well but he can slash to the basket and handle the ball well. His defense is All-star level (including rebounding). However what jumps off the screen is his intensity and drive to win. I am just worried that he is getting too good and he might be in the discussion for the #1 pick or at least top #3.
I also like Davis. I was a little hesitant about his pro potential because of his lack of bulk but I would be happy if the Jazz drafted him too.
Another player I was impressed with was Wroten but I haven't seen him play enough to get a real feel for him. I am somewhat concerned about his supposed attitude issues. Nevertheless, the kid has a ton of talent.
What's your deal with mkg? I understand he is not your cup of tea, but you just sound like an ignoramus denying his skills when the evidence of said skills is in front of that big round dome. So bizarre.
I just like Barnes better. Most scouts, GM's, and Draft Blog "experts" agree with me from what I have read. I also think he fits better into the Jazz's offense and personnel.
And I don't want to see his ugly shooting form every game to be honest.
Barnes can shoot. That's it. What else do you like from him? He can't/won't pass, doesn't get steals, doesn't get blocks, he's a one-dimensional player. That's ok if you're Kevin Durant, but Barnes ain't no Kevin Durant.
He isn't as one dimensional as you make him sound. Do you watch him play? If he is just a shooter, he is a damn good one because he is shooting 48% from the field and 48% from deep. It's not like he is a finished product either, he will get better and address the concerns people have with his game. I think last year everyone ragged on his catch and shoot ability, but this year is one of the better in the nation.
PKM, well I hope you are right about PKM not getting higher than the third pick but if the kid keeps getting better I think it could happen. I will have to watch him more but I still think he could be top 3 talent wise out of the 2012 draft.
Barnes reminds me of a more talented Calbert Cheney from Indiana. I think that was his name. He played for the Jazz at the end of his career. A decent shooter but not much else. I think Barnes is a very good defensive player though. So I do not think he is one-dimensional. My biggest concern is his inability to create on his own (poor handles) and his someone passive style. I think Barnes did prove last year that he isn't afraid to take the last shot.
I would be happy with either guy but I just like MKC better because I think he has an all around game.
I watch him play quite often. He is just a shooter, and obviously he is a good one, I never say that he wasn't. Based on his game, I just don't think he's ever going to improve enough to be a halfway decent facilitator or make an impact on defense. Hell, if he can't drive on people in college what makes you think he's going to suddenly gain the ability to do it in the NBA against better players? I'm not denying his ability to shoot, but look at how well he did when he didn't have the best PG in the nation making plays for him. He NEEDS somebody to create offense for him, and that scares me.
When you say "Just a shooter" it makes me think of someone like Kyle Korver.
You saying Barnes is better than Korver???11?

PKM reminds you of World of Warcraft?....not a perfect comparison, but not a bad one either. I'd say he's more along the lines of WoW meets Candyland?
