2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Go watch Amen and get back to me. The draft would have to shake out a certain way, but it's quite possible that one of the Thompsons gets to 7, and Ausar cancelled his workout with Indiana yesterday.

It's possible that the Jazz can move up from 9 to 7 using a future pick, and hold onto 16. The Pacers have too many picks in this draft as it is.
Are you not at all concerned that Amen shoots 25% from 3s?

We just saw how players couldn’t get on the floor during the playoffs when they can’t knock down 3s.

I will be very surprised if Amen is still there at 7.

Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Whitmore, Walker, Ausar would need to be the first 6 picks. Maybe Houston take Amen at #4. If Amen doesn't fall to 7, then Ausar or Walker probably would.

All that needs to happen for Utah to move up to 7 is for the Jazz to decide they need to leapfrog Washington to get someone they like, and for Indiana to decide they like Hendricks or Dick.

Is there really a big difference between Walker, Hendricks and Leonard Miller?

There's a difference, yeah. Walker has the ability to make space for himself and create with the ball. Hendricks is a pretty reliable spot-up shooter. Miller does several things, but not at a very high level (other than rim finishing).

Man, didnt know the Locked on Network is this HUGE.

In the Draft Special, there was a guy from Locked on Coogs to talk about Jarace Walker.

Wow.

The Network is HUGE.

Saw a post on Reddit that mentioned the Lowe Post reporting that Bufkin has cancelled workouts with Utah, Atlanta and NO. I haven't listened to it, but apparently it starts around 1:02:00:

I have a source that says Washington promised him at 8. Though I have an insider source who works for the Wizards that says they didn't.

I don't like the idea of trading 16 and 9 to move up to 7. It still feels like there will be someone good there at 16, but after that it's much more questionable.

I get why people might prefer Black over Wallace, but I don't see how someone can watch both of their film and come away with the idea that Black is worth giving up assets for when Wallace could be someone we can move back to get and gain assets in the process.

Agreed. I'd like to come out of this draft with 2 useful players, preferably a guard and a wing. I'm all for moving up from 9 and/or 16, but wouldn't want to package them to move up for one higher pick unless it's for a player that's clearly a tier above what we would get at 9. Moving up to 7 probably doesn't really do that for me.
