Game #7: Grizzlies at Jazz, Friday 01/06/2012 7:00 MST

I still think Millsap should be our 6th man. Can anyone tell me why Corbin is starting the two worst big defenders, but the two best offensive players. They should spend as little time together as possible on the court. Did Ty panic in benching Favors after three games?

No Ty caved to the pressure of starting Millsap.

No Ty caved to the pressure of starting Millsap.

I`d say Ty caved to the pressure of starting Jefferson, with his huge contract. Millsap/Favors is the better lineup than Jefferson/Favors.

Millsap should have never gone to the bench to start the season. He was our best player last year, our best team player, and didn`t deserve to go to the bench. Right now, Millsap is the better all-around power forward than Favors (who plays best at center, and basically has no offensive game yet other than putbacks)

Till we get rid of Jefferson, Bell and Miles, the Jazz will never be winners.

When you take into account his 3s (both the number he takes and the rate at which he hits them) and FTs (he takes a bunch), he's actually a pretty efficient offensive player (career .567 TS%).

Good points! I still feel like it is a general rule of thumb that your big men should shoot at least 50% from the field.

1. Or he it is pretty sensible to start your #1 offensive threat?
2. Favors wasn't ready to start. I think it was pretty clear that he wasn't able to keep up. He is still better suited as a bench player, bringing energy and shutting down the opposing teams bench.

I love Favors but Harp said it best the other night when he noted how the kid has to perfect one offensive move. Actually, just learn one offensive move. I know, I know, give it time. I am. Just saying.

Favors has a lot of moves. Just like you said, none of them are perfected or go-to moves for him yet.

You can't bench Jefferson, the Jazz can't risk upsetting Al thereby decreasing his trade value. Remember all the crap offers the jazz got for Boozer a couple years ago when everyone thought a trade was imminent. Al must start up to the day he is traded.

I swear, if League Pass blacks out this game heads will roll. They blacked out the last 2 games. And I live in Maryland. Can't imagine a reason for that.

Burks has the most balls on the team probably thus far. I kind of like how he broke a post up play off after he realized there wasn't enough time on the clock to feed the post man and have that man create a shot, so he broke the play, called a pick, and drove it to the rim and scored.

That has to be the most impressive move he has made this season! Can't wait to see what else he will show us this year!!

I also like that he was listened to instead of Big Al demanding the ball. Shows a level of trust.

Favors biggest problem right now is that he might be a bigger black hole than Jefferson right now. If he gets the ball within 7 feet he goes for it. No assists on the year IIRC.

When you're a player like Al Jefferson (doesn't shoot threes, doesn't get to the line, puts up shots at an insane rate), I totally agree.
