2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I'm releasing my measurements for the draft.
Height: without shoes 6'4"
Height with high heels: 6' 9"
Weight: way over 200
Max vert: 4" on a good day
Max reach: Top shelf
Hand size: Two of them

I'm pretty sure I'll get drafted.
Full court sprint: incomplete… pulled a hammy

Bilal is the best fit with Orlando's roster of any lottery prospect in their range.

So why wouldn't they take him at 6 if they are high in him?

Giannis is 6'11" without shoes i believe. So, 5. 1/4 inches shorter.

Giannis has a 7'3" wingspan according to Wikipedia. Also, a quick Google search suggested a 40" vertical jump which is 7" more than Bilal.

Some meaningful differences yo.

Giannis was 6'8", 207 lbs when he was drafted. Then someone must have fed him something.

Sometimes people get hung up on the rankings of a player. I would like to get Bilal but 9 seems too high for me but if you try to get him at 16 you have a real chance of him getting selected before 16. You can try to move up but that is not always easy. So a team has to decide to pass or grab him higher one would normally take the player. This might be the case with Bilal.

Nobody cares where you draft a player. If you want Bilal, you draft him wherever you can get him. Trading up from #16 might not turn the trick, unless we can convince Dallas to give us #10.

Thing is though, why wouldn't Dallas just take him at #10? If I'm Dallas and Bilal just falls in my lap, I go meet him at the airport. I'm not going to pass on him, just because I need to get Javale McGee off my books.

Cuz he’s like a huge project and they ain’t got time for that… same reason they are likely to trade back with anyone… but especially him.

I wonder if Orlando really believes in their guards. Conventional wisdom would say that they'll just take Ausar, but maybe Ausar vs. Bilal could become a debate.

I don't think the trade offers for #10 have been all that exciting so far.
You think Luka is more excited with a meh trade that lands him some help now or a rookie who is 2 years away from helping? That’s what Dallas is all about right now.

That’s Exum like.
Good find. That's a scary flaw. Scouting report does mention his rawness. But I come back to his rim finishing and his stocks percentage. That screams high level functional athleticism. Not sure you can teach that and it shows he is a better athlete than Exum.
