2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

On FVV, I think he signs for 3 years. Then he will be a FA again when he’s eligible for the 10-year max.

Apparently, the Kings are planning to make a run at Kyle Kuzma. I would’ve been willing to bring him in at a reasonable cost (and my idea of reasonable is probably higher than most) - but I sure as hell don’t want to get into a bidding war with Sacramento. If their past behavior is any indication, Kyle Kuzma is about to be wildly overpaid. Makes the JC trade even better.

At this point, Jazz might as well let JC walk, put out an offer sheet for Austin Reaves just to force the Lakers hand and then look to get involved in a trade at the deadline with whatever cap space they still have if/when the Lakers match it. I’d still probably try to add Yuta Watanabe, but that’s me. I’m not sold on our depth at SF right now.

THT, George, Dunn
Agbaji, Sexton
Markkanen, Fontecchio, Sensabaugh
Collins, Hendricks, Samanic
Kessler, Olynyk, Jones

I would have thought Hendricks could play some 3 if need be.

I personally think he’s a 4, but I thought the same thing about Lauri and he’s played out of his mind in the huge lineups as a 3. . . so, maybe Hendricks can do it. He wasn’t really asked to in college, but he’s 19 and I believe in Will Hardy’s player development skills. My hope is that Hendricks can become the type of player that Jonathan Isaacs was starting to look like before the knee injuries. Isaacs showed more advanced playmaking skills, but there were a lot of aspects of their games in college that feel similar to me. Guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out.
