2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

I see almost no way the Jazz don’t keep Kelly Olynyk to start the season. I think it’s probably 50/50 that he gets traded by the deadline though.

Between KO today and Clarkson tomorrow. . . we should have a better idea of what the Jazz plans are for free agency really soon.

At the moment, KO is our backup 5, no? Damian Jones is a 3rd-string guy.

He could still get rolled up into a trade somewhere. Or, the Jazz just keep a cheap option as their 3rd guy. Curious to see how Vernon Carey, Jr. looks this summer.
VCjr is not on the summer league roster as of now. They have two bigs from Depaul and Providence who had decent college stats. I wonder if he's injured or the Jazz decided he was not a prospect.

Who knows. They signed him to a non-guaranteed contract, so they must see something in him that they like. I imagine we’ll see him at some point this summer.

So the Kings cleared space using a first round pick... so they can pursue Kuzma to replace Barnes.... I mean that feels like a lateral move to me... maybe slightly better. We shall see but not sure what they were going for on that one.

I think they legitimately thought they’d make a run for Draymond Green - but I just don’t see him leaving the GSW. . . Except maybe to go to Detroit. They could be a sneaky team to get him.
