Summer League Thread

But there is a competition level to look at. Just like in other sports. Like HH mentioned, when nfl teams draft a player from a school like BYU or UNLV they need to look at the talent level in those conferences and determine if the good things about a player might have something to do with the competition of the opponents.
Then there is also the style of play being different from the nba. There is also a different set of rules in the nba vs the french league. Different culture. Etc. That all can be considered as well when evaluating a prospect.
The French league is better than any college conference in the US IMO. Monaco will wipe the floor with any college team you put in front of them.

Link to where I posted anything is because anyone is french? What I posted is that eliza statements were true. If you have any evidence to the contrary then by all means post it.

These French prospects just so happen to play in the French League I’m talking about. Cy has an extremely hard time arguing in good faith so it’s per usual for him.

Yeah, people love to ignore the fact Bilal was playing against a top Euroleague team in the Finals and making an impact.

Yep. So we can only speak in facts. Fact is that prospects from that league have been overrated and aint done ****.
Overrated compared to what? I was unaware the country of France is the only country that produces guys who don't translate to the NBA.

By far the funniest **** about Elizah is that he will start copying terms people use against him and attempt to use them. It's like arguing with your little brother.

What if you question his production AND also point out that he is playing in a league that, for whatever reason, doesn't produce much nba talent? Would you allow that or is it too insane?

The "AND" part is irrelevant. The production argument makes sense, which is why I've mentioned it multiple times. But red flagging him on the basis of the league he played in, doesn't make much sense to me. I don't know why everyone moved the goalposts and acted like I wasn't the one saying the production concerns were legit. Never had an issue with questioning Bilal's performance. Maybe some disagreements, but it's a legit concern.

Your recent posts completely avoid the point of contention. The point of contention is whether or not Bilal is overrated because he played in France. French league players were good until they weren't. Recent league success was not an indicator of success for Frank or whoever else. A player is not better or worse because they played in the French league. It does not matter to me what the history of recent French players are because it hasn't mattered before. A player is not the league he came from. This is extremely evident by the fact that Wemby and Bilal were freaking teammates. In the same way that Frank does not make Bilal a worse prospect, Wemby being good does not make him a better prospect.

I don't care if you like or dislike Bilal, but it should be on the basis of his performance and play and not on the basis of the league he came from and the recent draft success/fail of that league. The former argument leaves some room up for subjective opinion. We can agree to disagree about it. The latter is just a dumb and lazy argument.

If this is true then you should be able to show that there are way more nba players from that league than from the NCAA.

Why hasn’t it produced any NBA players in the last decade?
It has produced NBA players. But European leagues' goal is not to produce players for another league... if you ask why it hasn't produced high level NBA players... because the talent level of prospects is not the same as what the US has and they cannot produce NBA stars with regularity. It produced one 10 years ago... maybe it produced one or two this year... we will see. I never said the French youth competitions are better than US youth competition. I said their league is better than US college. That league includes players who've been pros for years and decades in some cases, players who have been in the NBA, players who have been US college players and then turned pros. Majority of the college players in the US never become pros to begin with. ALL OF THOSE players in that league are pros. They do this for living. In essence, those are some of the best players that don't get into the NBA.

Its not. You can insert any number of countries in there and it would be true for them as well. If you want to make a case for a german leauge or spanish league or something producing lots of nba talent then thats fine. We just happen to be talking about france because that is where the player in the discussion played.

The and part has been a part of the discussion the whole time. You chose to ignore and focus on only one part.

According the Cy, Bilal’s impact was so impressive in this amazing league. So we will see how that translates to the NBA.

So compared to what? What's the metric we are comparing?

I didn't ignore the other part, I was literally saying the other part. I repeated it several times, in fact lol. Is it not possible to have different opinions on the two arguments? Or do you have to disagree with both because I disagree with one?
