Following potential 2012 draftees

Color me intrigued by Damian Lillard. Completely irrespective of the fact that he's an in-stater.

Chad Ford starting to talk highly of him as well.

Weber State's Damian Lillard (Rank: 25) is clearly benefiting from the strong play of Miami's Norris Cole. Cole put up big numbers for Cleveland State last season and had all the makings of one of the best point guards in the draft. But concerns about him being a 'tweener and the lack of top-tier competition caused him to sink into the late-first round. I'm not sure that will happen with Lillard. It's still not entirely clear whether he's a 1 or a 2, but he's lighting up everyone this season. In a draft really devoid of top-flight point guards (more on that on Friday) he has a chance to be the first off the board on draft night.

Interesting that Barnes only shot 2 of 12 last night including 0 for 5 from three AND UNC's best shooter (Hairston) shot 1 for 5 from three .. and they were playing a bad team @ UNC. Not a big deal, everyone has off nights ..

What are you trying to say??? :) Sometimes hard to get up for the lesser teams. I think their shots were getting blown around. Get it?

Also, in fairness, the game before (against Boston College), Barnes scored 25pts and was 3 of 4 from behind the arc.
As much as I agree with many that Barnes has somewhat limited offensive diversity, I still have him #3 in the draft.

Scott Machado

This is the guy for us the next draft..
He is a PG who passes the ball, thing that harris dont do..

We need to pick a good PG, our best PG Watson dont have many year of NBA left..

SCOTT MACHADO leads the USA in apg..

Maybe. He's certainly putting up good numbers.

Having said that, Iona has not played a ranked team this year so Scott has not had to play against any real competition. Also, in addition to him being on the smallish side, Scott has pedestrian lateral quickness, gets burned badly in a man-to-man defense, and appears to have overall subpar defensive ability. Those concerns, coupled with the fact that Iona is playing teams that average a national ranking in the #200 area, makes me less enthusiastic.

When all is said and done meyers leonard will be a lottery pick. His upside is off the charts. Great leaper and shot blocker with a nice face up game and a hook shot with both hands. Legit 7foot1 also and has a big frame that he will only add muscle to as he gets older. 3 years from now this will be an all star in the league

Brandon paul dropped 35 on ohio state other day. The same osu team that destroyed duke. Paul turns the ball over to much to be a pg but as a scorer off the bench he would be a great 2nd round pick

Looks like a solid C prospect but that means Jefferson would be dealt. I see Favors as the C of the future and Kanter as the PF of the future or vice-versa. We need a wing or PG much more than a C though.

Just starting to pay attention to the draft now even though the Jazz are looking like a good team now. What do you think about Austin Rivers as a PG?

Gilchrist is now shooting 32% from deep. I think this number will probably drop to around 30% and hover around that for the rest of the year. This guy only shoots wide open shots from what I have seen and struggles to make them consistently.

favors is more of a pf. Pair him and leonard up in let kanter come off bench. Can never have enough bigs

Meh...I think he would have a similar playing style to Russell Westbrook as a PG.

With 1/3 the athletic ability. I see Rivers as a poor man Dwill. I think he has the potential to develop his passing. He isn't a great athlete, but he has ball-handling ability that makes him quicker than anyone else. His shot worries me though. Thing is kind of ugly.

Rivers will be a better pro than college player. He has things that drive me insane, but he has 'it.'
