To sum up all that's been said above: we literally do not have a backcourt playmaker on the roster. You know, a guy who understands managing a game, controlling tempo, getting the ball to our best scorers in their best spots.

We have a bunch of guys who will dribble the ball up the court... and whatever happens after that is anyone's guess. Most likely a stepback 3 (THT, Clarkson) or a 1-on-4 attack into the paint (Sexton, Dunn).

Not an ideal situation.

This poll refers to opening night of regular season (since I might have a different answer for opening night of preseason, the most during the year, or the regular starter by the end of the season)?
This person who starts preseason is likely the Day 1 starter unless it was injury related

The way the situation is right now, I see preseason games being a part of the dispute for Day 1 starter - tho getting the start in the preseason should indicate who's ahead at that moment - it is that open.

It's just that they can't simply hand it to Keyonte. But it's him.

Clarkson 6th man with Dunn manning the point, overlapping with Keyonte playing off-ball when he's in, too.

If Keyonte wins the job on opening night it’s because he’s other worldly and was so clearly superior to the other options… if that happens look out. I’d guess it’s Sexton, Dunn, or they go with JC and Ochai. Keyonte would have to be undeniably the best in practice and preseason to win the job.

That doesn’t mean he can’t.
It's a huge longshot and potentially damaging to the lockerroom unless he's clear cut heads and shoulders above everyone else. It's not going to happen.

And if the Jazz thought it was going to happen, Sexton would have been traded yesterday.

Why when they think of Sexton as a 6th man?

I shouldn't waste my energy hoping for George to be a starter..... but I can't help it. Offensively speaking, due to the dynamics of the Lauri-Collins-Kessler fit, there'll be a premium on floor spacing, volume 3pt shooting, and playmaking. On paper, it's easy to see how George—like Clarkson—fills these needs better than Sexton, THT, and Dunn. On the defensive side, George-Clarkson could be a disaster, though.

Kind of a broken poll, since Hardy has already thrown cold water on the "PG" or "lead guard" concepts. The better poll would have allowed you to choose 2 options from all the guards.
