Not really. They arent saying he cant be the #1 in this draft, but when you think #1 pick you are imaging a guy who could be a top 20 player someday. Thats more of what they are saying. He just isnt an elite can't miss prospect.
It's likely no one separates themselves this year as a clear #1 pick. As much as I like Sarr, it's more the idea of Sarr. His last game he put up 0 points and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes. He has the look of a #1 pick. He has elite size, tools, and athletic ability.
Ron Holland is like 6'6, maybe 200 lbs. He doesnt have any elite basketball skills. He's a high level athlete, but I don't think he is in the top 10% of NBA athletes (probably right around the 10-15%). 2 games in he hasnt done anything mind blowing. NBA scouts/teams dont have a high level of respect for G-League production, so if you arent dominating it's concerning and Scoot's ****** start isnt helping those concerns (as he is another guy who didnt dominate the G-League, but coasted off hype). Not saying he sucks, but he I don't think he is a franchise guy at all and may be someone who never makes an ASG.
