2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

This does seem like a strong point guard/combo guard draft yet again.

  • Proctor
  • Castle
  • Collier
  • Topic
  • Wagner
  • Elmarko Jackson
  • Kylan Boswell
  • Bronny James (f he gets cleared)
  • Trey Alexander

These are point guards/point leaning combo guards who could go first round from my early impressions. And I could be omitting someone by mistake.

Add Dual to that list. His jumper looks good.

I don't want to overreact, but I might put both Castle and Risarcher ahead of Justin Edwards, at least for now. Edward's effort level hasn't been consistent, and he hasn't looked very confident creating for himself.

My son played against Kylan Boswell and Jared McCain's Corona Centennial HS team but as I recall Boswell kept transferring schools and only played one year there. I'll have to catch some Arizona games this season. My impression back then was McCain would be the better pro prospect. McCain had more of a Keyonte type playstyle shooting alot of 3's with good ballhandling but a slight frame.

It's early but McCain's Duke teammate Procter and Castle might be the best potential backcourt fits with Key.

I think McCain is going to be a 2 year guy. It's going to be hard for him to standout next to Proctor and Roach.

He could definitely be in that group though.

Just caught the highlights of the Duke vs Arizona game from a few days ago and was super impressed with Boswell. He looks to be a way better playmaker than I remember and also looks bigger in general. McCain was always the guy with the ball when those 2 were teammates. Kylan has a real chance to be a FRP in the next draft. I agree the 3 guard lineup for Duke might hold McCain back a bit. Both Roach and Procter are more ready to actually run the team.

Usually don't pay much attention to college basketball until after Thanksgiving but will make an exception this year due to Jazz awfulness.

He looks long too. That's what stood out to me. He has kind of a similar build to THT, but not quite that extreme.

A bit premature to say that don’t you think?
Not really. They arent saying he cant be the #1 in this draft, but when you think #1 pick you are imaging a guy who could be a top 20 player someday. Thats more of what they are saying. He just isnt an elite can't miss prospect.

It's likely no one separates themselves this year as a clear #1 pick. As much as I like Sarr, it's more the idea of Sarr. His last game he put up 0 points and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes. He has the look of a #1 pick. He has elite size, tools, and athletic ability.

Ron Holland is like 6'6, maybe 200 lbs. He doesnt have any elite basketball skills. He's a high level athlete, but I don't think he is in the top 10% of NBA athletes (probably right around the 10-15%). 2 games in he hasnt done anything mind blowing. NBA scouts/teams dont have a high level of respect for G-League production, so if you arent dominating it's concerning and Scoot's ****** start isnt helping those concerns (as he is another guy who didnt dominate the G-League, but coasted off hype). Not saying he sucks, but he I don't think he is a franchise guy at all and may be someone who never makes an ASG.

I think he is pretty elite defensively or at least has the defensive versatility to be an elite defender at the next level. I’m surprised you aren’t more high on him since Bilal’s defensive ability is what drew you towards him.

Bilal was also 6'8 w/ a 7'2 wingspan and an actual elite athlete.
