Atlanta is going to do nothing (maybe minor moves) then re-evaluate in the off-season when they have more options.

They arent going to do a deal that doesnt give them a win now fit around Trae Young. Them getting some pieces to swing a Siakim deal doesnt fit. Just because it was rumored this summer they were looking into it doesnt mean they want it to happen, just means they looked into it.
 
Hawks are currently 13-19 and Cy thinks they gotta act like they got Lebron on the team.
 
Also hilarious to talk about how overrated Murray is and simultaneously think Hawks wouldn't accept an egregious overpay because its the wrong type of currency.

Yeah that is the price I was pitching. I would try and sub Ochai in for picks. I would want to buy super low if I was doing it.

There are very few trades between two teams directly that are win-now moves. OG/IQ deal was fairly rare. Normally draft comp, young players, are required from one team even if they are a third team.... but sure... I'm the one doing 2k stuff.

The reality is Atlanta is the 11th seed in the East... they are 5 games out of the top 6. Utah is 4.5 games out of the top 6. You tell me who is in win-now mode?

Yeah, that's why they arent going to do a deal now.

They will make the play in. Johnson is healthy again and they will probably go on a mini run at some point.

They will re-evaluate in the off-season and see what they can do (they could easily pivot off Youg). There is going to be a lot of movement in the off-season and their will be more options. It would have to be a mind-blowing deal to do a straight up asset grab that doesnt help you win now.

Tatum, kawhi, LeBron, Steph, Gianni's, Luka, jokic etc etc etc are all better with the ball in their hands.

Can't do much without the ball. Hard to put up points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, etc without touching the ball

Wait... so they won't do a deal now because they are in win-now mode and wouldn't do an asset grab, but also in the offseason they might pivot and move Trae instead?

Having more flexible assets would help them pivot this offseason and either build or tear down.

I'm not saying they will sell off Murray for future pieces but if the Jazz came with two guys that were basically lotto picks and 2 firsts plus salary filler? You can spin one of those pieces off to Portland for Brodgon and keep the play in hopes alive. then you'd have 3 more good pieces left to do work with.
 
I think Tyus and Lavine are both reasonable targets we could get at a non-inflated cost.
 
Hawks are not in any rush to win now... They got Trae Young locked for the next 4 seasons and he's got zero leverage to force a way out. The guy is still just 25 years old. Stop acting like his prime ends in a year or two.

Plus Murray was kinda their "win-now” move already which backfired so are they really so eager to do another one...

If they waste too many assets just to push the “win-now” narrative they will have their hands tied for the future, which brings the real risk of losing Trae Young prematurely. Like how we just fumbled with Rudy/Mitchell.

So i think Hawks have all the reasons to wait it out for the right opportunity to come instead of forcing the “win-now” objective on their still relatively young roster. Trade Murray for some future trade pieces they can use later on is definitely a legit option for them.

Tyus Jones would be the no-brainer fit.

If Dunn can have a positive impact then Tyus would look like a top 20 PG with our team.

I'm still really interested in Deni Avdija as well. Tyus and Deni for picks and stuff (maybe we convince them to take Collins cuz their cap space is meaningless... a fan can hope).
