2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Why is Edey being touted as a lottery pick now? Is this draft that bad or has he improved immensely?

I think he's worth a late first in this draft. I think its partly that DX has become woj of the draft... pimping some kids in weird ways ******** on others.

Given how awful this draft is, I don't think it's crazy that Filip or Edey sneak into the lottery somehow. Filip much more likely though. I don't feel strongly about too many players in this draft.

Rissacher does not seem like a typical #1 prospect, and IMO he is not, but I think he's actually the best prospect in this draft as of right now. I think he's Otto Porter Jr with better health (knock on wood).

Tier 1
Rissacher
Topic
Sarr

Tbh.....there were like 10 prospects in last year's draft you could put in this tier or higher.

Absent lotto luck (top 3-4) I’d be inclined to trade out of the first round entirely.
Every draft has talent… need to add talent into the pipeline. Can’t punt a draft in our position. If others sell cheap I’d buy. I wouldn’t sell out unless we got a real offer.

Okay, but the guy we draft has to be able to crack the rotation. There's really only a handful of guys I could see who would make the Jazz a better team.

Go get Shep.

We don’t even know who’s on the roster next year. Worry about rotation minutes later… add talent to the pipeline. Would be dumb to trade out of a pick in the top 10 just because it’s supposedly a bad draft.

I wouldn't mind Sheppard. I think he's rotational. If he can develop more of his off-the-dribble game, he could be something.

Topic, Sarr, Williams and Risacher look like the best 4 prospects to me.
Walter is a nice rotational 3D guard. He'll defend better than Sensabaugh, so that could put him ahead in the rotation.
Holland can work if he learns to shoot, but that development still needs to happen.
Tyler Smith looks more offensively versatile than Hendricks, but isn't quite the same defensive presence. So that's probably sixes.
The French guy Salaun is interesting if it turns out that he can dribble, change directions and pass occasionally.
Filipowski is a big who can facilitate and the shooting should happen eventually, so he has some rotational value.

One guy I need to watch more is Dillingham.

I don't think that Proctor is going to be appreciably better than Keyonte.
Reviews on Collier are mixed, but overall he's been disappointing.
Consensus seems to be that Ryan Dunn is never going to show shooting touch. He's the next Brandon Clarke or Jarred Vanderbilt.

Honestly my thoughts are many on this draft.

- with the way the jazz are playing they might not even have a pick this year. I would be ok with that.

- if they are playing well enough not to have a pick then it would make sense the jazz made a trade to get better.

- if they are playing well but still get their pick I think most nba ready. That means Sheppard or Dunn.

- BPA is going to be tough because in this draft beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

- I have serious reservations about going full tank but I really really like the 2025 draft. It would so be a jazz thing to build a team based on copper Flagg.

Sheppard is a contender pick.

In the league he's an 8th or 9th guy, a specialist that fills a small hole in the roster.

What he's not is a BPA type that you draft before knowing what you'll do with him.
