NFL Talk

Pretty much what I thought. IMO, they need to draft the best available defender in the 1st, target Alshon Jeffrey in the 2nd, and go defense with a pass catching tight end somewhere thereafter.

Get a couple really solid guys on that D-Line and the Broncos could have the best pass rush in the league. It is already scary.

Yeah, if a stud lineman is there in the 1st, get him. In today's NFL, a the front four is even more important than ever with all the rules that favor offenses.

You have good cap space too. The best info I could find showed that you had the fifth most (as of 8/11/11) with 24M. Add in the fact that about 30M of that was/is Orton, Bailey and Dawkins, and you could be in a good spot.

I'd like the Broncos to focus on defense and WRs in the draft. Then have Elway just work Tebow all offseason. Hard.

You mean work the trade scenarios for Tebow all offseason? Cuz that's what's gonna happen.

Seeing as how Tebow got the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time in 5 years and then lead them to an victory over the defending AFC champion steelers I don't see that as a possibility. Elway may want to trade him but I think he knows that there would be a revolt if he did. Tebow is making the Broncos so much damn money right now. Jerseys, tickets, tv ratings, publicity, new fans...

I honestly do not see a safe way for Elway to trade Tebow. Not yet. Now if Tebow just gets blown out all next year than i can see it happening.

Are you high? I'd have to think the guy has almost God-like status in Denver. Who the hell are they going to get, at qb, in a trade that has any sort of promise at the position? Kevin Kolb? Listen, Tebow is flawed and needs to stop thinking so much and just pass the ball. He was a 66% passer his last couple years at Florida and I see no reason, like other NFL qb's, that his accuracy can't improve from say 48% to around 55-57% which would be huge. And at the end of the day, he got them to the second round of the playoffs despite having no good pass catching tight ends, mediocre receivers, and starting what was essentially his first full season. For me, has A LOT of upside if they're able to put legit weapons around him.

My comment was merely to draw a reaction. It worked.
Yes, I understand Tebow is God in Denver. Elway has never liked him. Let's just say if he were traded, it wouldn't surprise me. But it wouldn't surprise me if he stays, either.

I'm not convinced that's not an upgrade.

Yeah, imo, Tebow's a solid upgrade over Sanchez. Hell, this year Timmy was 18th in the league in yards per pass attempt. Add in his rushing and I'd guess he came in a little higher in yards per dropback. This was ahead of Sanchez, Freeman, Bradford, Flacco, and a few other decent names. Heck, even Matt Ryan finished just 16th.

I'm not sure what my thoughts are on Sanchez. He's a good QB if he has the weapons, relatively speaking. The WR corp this year left a little something to be desired. And the old OC sucked *** this year. It will be interesting to see what happens with Sparano as the new OC. In 2006, w/ Sparano as the primary playcaller, the Dallas offense ranked 4th in scoring and 5th in total O, producing two 1,000-yd WRs & a 1,000-yd rusher. In Sparano’s Miami offense, both RBs Ronnie Brown & Ricky Williams registered at least 600-yds rushing from 2008-10, while RB Reggie Bush recorded the first 1,000-yd rushing performance of his career this season.

Went kinda how I expected yesterday. Although the Saints/49ers was much more dramatic. I expect Baltimore to win today fairly easily & the Packers to beat the Giants, but a much closer game than expected.

Y'all were winning nearly the entire game. Lucky the Saints spotted the Niners 17 points and 5 TO's.

Just goes to show you how important the regular season is. The Saints don't choke away games either the Rams or Bucs and we have home field advantage and blowout the Niners.
The saints didn't give anything to the 49ers those turnovers were taken by the 49ers. That defense were bullies and imposed their will on the Saints the first 3 and a half quarters.

Way to excuse away the Saints loss. Bottom line is the 49ers made more plays.

The Giants line is only 7.5 dropping from 9. I don't think most are expecting a blowout.
