Potential Trade Targets

You aren’t thinking on a long enough timeline. Locke says the Jazz are targeting a 2028-2030 championship window. The decisions we make on role players and veterans who may be out of the league by then have zero bearing. What matters is maximizing the value we get now and maintaining flexibility for when a star to pair with Lauri becomes available.
Lauri will be on the side of 30 by then. Safe bet he's dealt if that's the case.

Eh. 30 probably isn't much of an issue for a player of Lauri's archetype.

Dirk won a title at age 33.
and we probably ain't contending with lauri being our no 1 option anyways. we will contend when lauri is our secondary or even tertiary. he can be the seasoned vet that space the floor then

The Woj Pod trade deadline day 4 is out. Lots of Jazz stuff in there..
  • Very complementary of Hardy (said he has done COTY level job this year)
  • Woj said we can come out of this week with both better team AND more picks.
  • We are definitely in a lot of discussions right now.
  • KO for Warriors is a real thing. No mention on what we could get back.
  • Bruce Brown discussions are active and ongoing. Didnt mention us (just Knicks), but says there are other teams (we have been connected)

I think Toronto has genuine interest in Olynyk, and the Jazz probably mentioned Bruce Brown as a player that might interest them coming back. However, that wouldn't mean the Jazz are actively pursuing Bruce Brown (which is what Tony Jones tweeted). A trade involving Brown could also be expanded to include another team.

So far, Warriors, Raptors and Sixers have all been mentioned as possible landing spots for Olynyk.

Yeah I think you can add Heat to that list as well. Remember hearing that somewhere.

What's the story on Payton II? There seems to be 2 avenues to a KO trade to Warriors: Moody + GPII or KO + THT (+ Luka if needed?) for Moody + Wiggins.

I don't want Wiggins' contract at all, so that would require extra assets from GSW, which they probably won't give up. If there should be a point to this for them they need to rehab Wiggins instead of dumping him.

Tbh trading for Wiggins to try and rehab his value feels like a move we’d try with where we’re at in the rebuild. The only way I want him though is if we’re sending out Collins

KO to the 76ers for Covington/Korkmaz/36 is what I would love to see.

I would prefer to get Moody from the Warriors but not sure if that is plausible.
I think we’d get a couple more seconds. I’m also in on Springer. Ignore the FG percentage… we can fix that.

So I think all possible KO destinations have some interesting guys. Moody, Springer, Robinson, Brown.

All are already at the very least playable, and some of them may have serious upside.

He plays one way really well right now and G League stuff is encouraging on offense. Still young.
The shooting is god awful and I would not roster him. He's a 2-way quality player until his shot improve.

I get being intrigued by him, but he wouldnt be a factor in a trade for me.
