What's new

Game Thread: Clippers @ Jazz, 7 p.m.

This game is gonna be good. How will Millsap match up with Griffin's energy? What about Jordan on Jefferson?

Oh, and then there's the Paul/Billups problem. Do we have an answer for them? Can Bell keep up with either of them?

I'm pretty stoked to watch this.

Edit: I think we'll win. Why? Vinny Del Negro. I think he's a terrible coach.

There might not be a Paul in which case Harris would get Billups. He will have an easier time with him than he would with Paul.

I expect Jefferson to play Jordan to a draw and Millsap will work Griffin. Just watch.

Nobody could stop Griffin last year. I am afraid he will get his 30 pts anyway, key is to not let their other guys like Butler and Billups beat us.

Hopefully we come out aggressive, CP3 or not we can still lose to this team. Just keep sticking with our bread and butter and pound it in the paint so we can get Griffin & Jordan in foul trouble. Hopefully Hayward and Burks have solid games.

If for no other reason, not having Favors will hurt because that's 5 more fouls that they could have put on Griffin. Griffin is now shooting a horrendous 54% from the FT Line. Apparently, superstars don't need to be able to make free throws any more.

With or without Paul this is a trap game. We better come ready to play or we stand a good chance of getting slapped.

Trap game? LAC is considered one of the better teams in the West and have more media attention than any team not named Heat.

Like against the Lakers I don't think we will have an advantage inside. That is going to make it tough on us.

Matchups with Jazz Tinted glasses

Harris <<< Paul
Bell < Billups
Hayward = Butler
Millsap = Griffin
Jefferson = Jordan

Watson = Mo Williams
Howard/Burks > Gomes
Kanter > Reggie Evans
Evans > Trey Thompkins

We are going to need our bench to dominate.

On the brightside Griffin played 40 minutes last night. Butler played 38 minutes. They might have tired legs.

Millsap = Griffin? Sorry, I love Sap as much as the next guy, but this simply isn't true.

Sap's PER has been around 25 IIRC. He's absolutely beasting. Don't get blinded by the hype. Nobody thought he could outplay Gasol either yet here we are. Anyways that's why they play the game.

I do expect Jefferson to have his way with Jordan, and the key might be Kanter. He's going to get a ton of minutes tonight. Hope his conditioning is up to it.

Howard is going really be missed tonight. Caron Bulter doesnt get talked about for the clippers but hes having a great year and a huge part of their team. Hes big and strong and will give Hayward a lot of trouble and could easily get Hayward in foul trouble. All the clipper sfs are big and strong so it will be interesting to see how our guys handle it.

Would this be an occasion where playing Sap at SF would be beneficial?

Well considering that we don't have Favors tonight, No. If Sap or Al get into foul trouble this game could turn ugly fast.

Crap I forgot we would not have favors. Evans will see some time I assume.
