Proof Donovan was The Issue

It doesnt really matter if Don attracts stars. Their team as is is a pretty good regular season team, unless they just make some monumental mistake in a trade, they will be a fine playoff team.. They will win games and make the picks in the 20's most seasons. The East is pretty weak and I dont see that changing.

And I dont see why Bryant wouldnt be ready to be a HC. He has served under two great coaches. He would have the respect of his best player, which is the bulk of the reason coaches succeed or fail.
They aren't getting help from the draft, so their only path to improvement is to make trades. Like I said, I'd be happier with Don influencing the trades than the front office. He won't remain patient like Luka was.

We know nothing about what Bryant looks like as a head coach. I do know that if he got the Cleveland job it would be entirely because that is what Donovan wanted. There is a great chance he isn't at Bickerstaff's level and that he wouldn't be likely to check Donovan.

Of course, odds are the Donovan gets traded this summer so it's likely moot.

They pick 20th in the draft this year....They have a pick in 26 as long as Utah doesnt convey a pick to OKC and they have a pick in 2028...

Their entire core is also young.. So they will improve naturally most likely.

Also if you dont know how good Bryant is as a coach, how do you know he cant win a job based on his interview ability?

With so many experienced, good coaches available, I'd like to think one couldn't simply get a head coaching job based on a good interview.

Then again, Redick is about to get the Lakers job.

How does any first time HC get a job then?

Also, experienced coaches cost more and teams who are paying high salaries often look to younger coaches they can give cheaper contracts to.

Well, previous accomplishments, I'd like to think. NBA isn't the only place you can be a coach.
Well he has put 12 years in as an assistant w/ the last 4 being an associate coach under Thibs. That's more than Hardy had iirc.

Just when I thought I couldn't hate that team any more. . .
