I said in this thread just a while back when conversing with @Douchebag K that I rarely hear or see biden speeches. Well here is one talking about the trump conviction. Just like the state of the union address he sounds just fine and makes great points.


"The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed," Biden said in remarks from the White House. "Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself."

Biden went on to emphasize the hush money trial was completely handled at the state level, and that Trump has the opportunity to appeal just like any other defendant after being convicted by a jury of his peers.

"That's how the American system of justice works, and it's reckless, it's dangerous, it's irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don't like verdict," the president said. "Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years, and it literally is a cornerstone of America. Our justice system should be respected. We should never allow anyone to tear it down. It's as simple as that."

Trump vowed to appeal the outcome as he addressed reporters from Trump Tower earlier Friday. In the rambling speech, Trump continued to air grievances about nearly all aspects of the trial, which he characterized as a "sham" and "rigged."

The former president also continued to false accuse the Biden administration of being involved in the case, which was brought by Manhattan prosecutors.

Biden pushed back on those assertions as he briefly spoke on the case from the State Dining room, where he gave broader remarks on the Middle East, which provided a contrast of Biden dealing with world affairs while Trump was fighting his conviction at his New York news conference.

"It was a state case, not a federal case, and it was heard by a jury of 12 citizens, 12 Americans, 12 people like you," Biden said of Trump's trial.

"Like millions of Americans who served on juries, this jury was chosen the same way every jury in America is chosen," the president continued. "In the process that Donald Trump's attorney was part of the jury heard five weeks of evidence, five weeks. After careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict. They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts."

The president did not respond to shouted questions from reporters on whether he believes the conviction will have an impact on the 2024 campaign, or whether Trump should be on the ballot.

Great opportunity there to take shots at trump but like he often does, biden took the high road. Meanwhile, during trumps post conviction rambling press conference trump is talking about how dumb biden is and cant put two words together and is destroying america.

This utter contrived farce can only occur if trump sleeps with a pornstar, tells his lawyer to pay her off to keep quiet, pays off owners of media companies to kill negative stories, and falsified the documentation of the payments.

But rather than blame trump for the contrived farce you blame the Democrats or something. That's kind of a farce itself. I can smell your trump cologne from all the way across the pond

If you keep on ignoring every thing he’s done, accepting ridiculous and ever present excuses or clarifications, and moving along like it’s all good, realize it hurts us all and you’re doing this willfully and with purpose.

Fact is still that trump slept with a pornstar and paid her off and falsified how it was done and was found guilty on 34 felonies.

Trump stole classified documents and wouldn't return them.

Trump tried to overturn an election and stay in power

Trump riled up a mob of pissed off followers and told them to march to the Whitehouse and fight or they wouldn't have a country.

Trump did these things. No one else. Trump. Trump is the reason for any and all charges against him. No one else

The Rapist should 100% get a prison sentence if that is what any other person would get. I look forward to these ****ing morons getting prison sentences too when they try to pull their little Trumptard civil war.

Someone with 10 contempt of court incidents, no remorse and the potential to offend again would generally get a harsher sentence. In this case that would indeed mean prison time. Of course this is a "first offense," non-violent, and the perpetrator is 77. That would typically mean a sentence on the low end, so likely based on that alone, some type of probation. With the contempt and lack of remorse I think a normal person would do a few months in jail.

Trump is not going to do time for this. I'd say zero percent chance he does even serious house arrest.

The Republican Party is acting, and certainly talking, as if our federal government, and institutions, are the enemies of the United States. Are they going to keep it up right through the election? I think we can be sure Trump will keep it up. We are not at the point described in the recent movie of the same name, and may we never, but the rhetoric Trump and the Republican Party is using in response to the New York conviction is the rhetoric of civil war.

Are they out of their minds? Don’t they know how destructive this is to create this fake narrative? Driven into a corner by The Big Lie, they have no plan, it would seem, to abandon the stance that the Biden administration and Justice department are the enemies of the United States. Can they adopt more dangerous rhetoric that what they have decided must be their position? They are married to a lie and a con man, and are willing to pile more lies upon lies. Such an irresponsible, and highly dangerous tact, is unacceptable!

Sooner or later, and I hope we don’t have to wait for History to be the judge, the Truth will out.

The conservative media company behind the book and film “2,000 Mules,” which alleged a widespread conspiracy by Democrats to steal the 2020 election and was embraced by former President Donald Trump, has issued an apology and said it would halt distribution of the film and remove both the film and book from its platforms.

In a statement posted to their website, Salem Media Group, Inc. apologized specifically to Mark Andrews, a voter from Georgia falsely depicted illegally voting in “2,000 Mules.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation cleared Andrews of wrongdoing, and found he was legally dropping off ballots for members of his family. Andrews filed a defamation lawsuit against Salem, as well as the team behind the movie: right wing commentator Dinesh D’Souza, and the group True the Vote.

Though “2,000 Mules” has been widely debunked by law enforcement officials and the media, including NPR, the film and book developed a widespread following among supporters of the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen.
