2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Jazz are drafting Topic and I'll tell you why, because, although the Jazz are slated to have their greatest summer league team ever, we are going to get 12 minutes of Sensabaugh, a steady diet of Johnny Juzang and a cast of dudes who probably won't even play for the Stars. For a strange variety of reasons none of the other guys we want to see will appear. Topic is just the easiest to explain.

I don't make the rules, I just live the Jazz Summer League life. We can't have nice things.

The teams that win summer league are when they have older fringe NBA guys that level up, like Sam Merrill last year. When guys that are slated to be in NBA rotations play well, they get shut down.

Winning the Summer League isn't something the Jazz should aspire to.

Was thinking the same thing the other day but I just don’t see the same court awareness between the two. Curious how their athleticism matches up and especially the initial burst after the acl. If colliers defense is quite a bit better than makes it a difficult decision after the injury

Collier is my pick this year for guy who most likely gets drafted too low. FWIW, Keyonte was my pick for last year.

No, but I don't want to tune in to watch Frankie Ferrari either. . .

I get it, but the summer league is what it is. You hope the players you like play well, but when they do they are shut down. I do think our fringe players like Juzang, Bazley, and Lofton are the types of guys who can play well and get to compete to the end.

Edey and lofton will lead us to a chip.

Yeah, you dont need your rookies to play every game. The Summer League is also about finding players to fill our your SL and training camp roster.

Definitely think Topic is a smarter player, better passer, and a much more promising shooter. But Collier's physicality at the rim is pretty impressive. I don't think Collier was a good defender, but his better steals rate suggest he may have more potential there in the same way that Topic's FT indicates he would become a better shooter.

I have Topic #2, but I dont feel great about it. His game is scarily one dimensional, but the way he attacks the rim is just so unique w/ his body control and how he finds angles. He's really the only perimeter player where I find his game to be "special". If Reed had a higher volume his shooting could be there for me, but it wasnt.

That being said I could see him getting in the NBA and it really not translating and he completely bust out because of it. You are just never going to see anyone in these lower leagues anywhere (like galaxies away) a NBA level rim protector.

I've gone back and forth between stay at 10 and maybe move up... I think unless its super cheap to get to 6/7 I'm good. Might pay a little more to get to 3 or 4 if I could nab Castle.

Pretty cool just hanging at 10 and seeing what falls in our lap. I might even be more inclined to move backwards to 12-14 if there was some profit there.

I'd rather trade back or out at this point.
