2024 NBA Mock Draft #3

Like Cleveland would never draft Topic. It's just not happening. There are several teams who really need a guy who can meaningfully contribute to winning over the course of his rookie deal.

Maybe it was Vecenie, but I remember listening to someone say opinions on Topic were very mixed around the NBA pre injury.

I just follow my board. He was easily my highest rated player. I don’t worry about need or fit. Let the new coaching staff figure out the details. Talent is talent, and I think he’s a steal at 20.

The main thing I'm seeing with this mock draft is that there could be a lot of trades happen on draft night. Some of the guys projected to go higher could fall, but I think teams will trade up if that happens.

There is a huge range of opinions on fan and even expert big boards for this draft. I'm guessing it's the same for front offices. It's going to be interesting.

Why wouldn’t they? At 20? A guy who was mocked at #1 at times during the year? I get that it’s not a position of need but you just draft the best talent possible and he is by far the most talented guy. Not like they want to play a rookie next year anyway.

Justin Edwards was mocked #1 at some point. Should he go 20?

OK, so with Ware off the board, the Knicks will take the next big with HUGE potential.

Tyler Smith

He's probably the best shooting big in this draft, it's amazing he's available this low on the board.

Imagine him in a pick and roll or a pick and pop with Jalen Burnson.

Brunson could make this guy an All Star.

topic was the next guy up on his big board - "easily [his] highest rated player" even. that being the case he'd be stupid to pass on him.
Look everyone is allowed to be wrong. I just don't think the Cavs can justify throwing a pick away like that. It's a move that gets you fired if he bust out or never helps the Mitchell core win. They need to draft smarter. They can't afford a failed pick.

I get he is very talented, but fit matters and both sides would be harmed by him going 20.

lol okay bud. When games actually started no one was putting Edwards there.
Both players played games before this season. It was a weak draft and people were trying to crown kings on small sample size spurts. Topic has too many flaws and his upside isn't strong enough to go against fit. It would be the Cavs throwing away a pick they desperately need to be a contributor.
