Matas studies AK-47

Matas is an interesting prospect. His athleticism is his best trait, but I'm not sure how athletic he can be with the ball in his hands as his dribble is high and his shot isnt good enough (currently) to make his dribble a threat. I can see the AK influence but he doesnt have the insane length to really be an AK. I think he probably averages a block per game for most of his career.

I could see him really filling out to 215-220ish and being a really really strong athlete. He's thin, but he has a nice frame.

Per 36 minutes:

Cody: 15.1 PTS 3.8 REB 2.0 AST 0.8 BLK 0.8 STL

Matas: 16.4 PTS 7.7 REB 2.3 AST 2.3 BLK 1.1 STL

Same age and Matas outweighs Cody by 30 pounds I think Matas at 209 lbs

i would take matas over williams, but the stats are apples and oranges in terms of g league vs college bball.

AK47 would have slayed in the small-ball, positionless era.

His production fell off because we moved him from the 4 to the 3 in and old school system. I will die on that hill.

I’ll get you a coffin.

AK also couldn’t shoot so he wouldn’t work well in the “positionless” era (that is premised as much on shooting on offense as it is switchability on defense).
