What's new

2024 NBA Free Agency Thread

I think the reason there's more noise has less to do with the Jazz changing their stance and more to do with teams calling and inquiring now that we're in the offseason. As Zach said, "Teams are calling".
Agreed. But too quiet for a team with as much cap as we have. Something cooking?

Teams were calling at the deadline too. Also it might not be us changing our stance... there are other parties here. Why have we been so anxious to make win now moves when we aren't close to winning? Why is Utah mentioned in the PG stuff at all?

Money rules everything in the NBA so I think Lauri would be saying he wants to stay and renegotiate. That's why I have it at like 10% or less chance.

I can see a scenario where Lauri is telling the FO he wants to stay, but also wants to see them show that they want to start winning.

And with no improvement what does he tell them about the extension?

And maybe... there is a guy that was rumored to be considering coming here... and maybe those guys wanted to play together... and now that guy is headed somewhere else... a team that has space and a GM that has been known to figure out how to get guys to his team when it seemed impossible. And if he tells the FO he doesn't want to extend what happens to his trade value?

There are three things I can see happen from where we are:
- We land someone solid and try being a mid team.
- We miss out on our targets and have a small pivot.
- We miss out on our targets and have a bigger pivot that is somewhat out of our control.

Philadelphia signing Paul George takes another suitor away for Miles Bridges… I’m just saying.
Feels like the Clips should figure out a way to bring him in. Just lean in all the way.
