What's new

Donald is about to go through some things...

Despite what some would have you believe, this is no small matter.

“In effect, the scholars said, the court put the president largely above the law in a way that was never written into the U.S. Constitution or established in more than 200 years of legal precedent. That could precipitate a crisis in the near term, they said, if former President Donald Trump wins re-election in November and uses the new protections with impunity to pursue his political opponents…..

“Berkeley political scientist Terri Bimes, a scholar in the history and operation of the U.S. presidency, called the court’s ruling “dangerous.” “The decision seems to permit the president to use the power of the office to commit acts that are illegal, that are criminal,” Bimes said. “The fact that these actions are being taken in the name of the presidency, that they’re official acts, makes them immune from prosecution. That is really problematic.”….

“Broadly considered, they said, the Supreme Court’s ruling could fundamentally change the presidency, dramatically increasing its power and making the nation more vulnerable to authoritarian leaders who might pursue power by any means necessary”.

Legal precedent... You fascist are the first ones in history to pull Hitler tactics up and arrest political opponents. The Christian hater speech cult are the ones setting insane precedents. Us Republicans want to protect every president not just Trump. You guys just want to stop Trump at any cost whether it be illegally taking him of ballots or arresting him for alleged crimes that multiple AG's and even the FEC has denied there were crimes.

So you're saying Biden should be in jail for breaking the law for his illegal vaccine mandates? Shouldn't Biden be prosecuted for allowing millions of illegals in? Shouldn't Biden be arrested for illegally paying off student loans? Every one of you hypocrites better answer yes to this and push for his immediate arrest.

Why believe your own lying eyes as you watch the election go on as before, and the prosecution of Trump go on as before when there are paid shills who peddle a fantasy?
You’re obviously free to do what you wish with your time, but you’re wasting it trying to persuade me of your nonsense. My go-to analysts in the SC decision on presidential immunity include Neal Katyal, Andrew Weismann, J. Michael Guttig, Lawrence Tribe, among others. I find them far more persuasive than anything you’ve offered. I find your spin to be ludicrous.

The Supreme Court took the case because the Biden administration was using the DOJ in a way that had never been used, so they wanted to provide a framework for how the government would proceed with the prosecution of Trump. That is it. The ONLY reason this ruling is a big deal is because the left-of-center media apparatus was desperate to find anything to talk about that wasn't Biden's cognitive decline. They latched on to this nothing story and spun it to absurdity. We don't now have a king. The President can't assassinate political rivals. Trump is still being prosecuted, but now the prosecution has to go through the extra step of arguing over events being official acts or non-official acts. Oh noes.

Trump doesn't become president and this ruling never happens. It happened because trump stacked the supreme court with loyalists and trump likes corruption and no other president in history has been as corrupt as trump.

There were 6 votes, Trump appointed 3. It's embarrassing that you didn't know that but not surprising at all. Like at all.

I have no doubt that I won't change your mind on why it happened, and I'm not going to try, but it is the total lie over what happened in the ruling that is so incredible to me.

@Red, who I consider to be a smart guy, thinks Biden now has the power to cancel elections and remain as a king but is only not doing so because of his own morals. I can point to upcoming court dates in trials where Trump is being prosecuted, but the opinion that Presidents are now immune from prosecution is everywhere.

People can read the decision for themselves. People can see the court dates for themselves. People can see election dates for themselves. It is not like this is some hidden knowledge. The only reason the narrative can persist is because people are pulling the wool over their own eyes. I can try and lift the wool only for vast swaths to quickly put the wool back in place to shield out reality. People are weird.

You are going to think this statement is crazy but, some people wouldn't want to kill someone even if they could kill someone with no repercussions.

Btw, trump lawyers are now arguing that trying to overturn the election by using fake electors was an official act as president and he can't be prosecuted for it.

You can point to dates in the future for trials but those dates are in the future and haven't happened yet. This one time I planned something and then the plan was cancelled.

Play stupid all you want fish and the rest of the Christian hate group as you illegally and unconstitutionally want to arrest political opponents. You're panicking.

Biden Plummets in Leaked Democratic Polling Memo, Puck Says

(Bloomberg) -- President Joe Biden’s favorability numbers plummeted after his debate performance last week in “the largest single-week drop” in nearly three years, according to a leaked memo from a pollster that was published Tuesday by the news site Puck.

“Underpinning the decline is an increase in already-high concerns about the President’s age, and a growing split among Democrats about what should happen with his candidacy,” says the memo from Open Labs, the research arm of Future Forward, a leading Democratic super political action committee.

The super PAC has been tapped by the Biden campaign as its vehicle to accept unlimited donations.

Biden’s debate performance against Republican Donald Trump last week cemented concerns about the oldest US president in history at 81 seeking a second term. Biden’s campaign has pushed back on calls from Democrats for him to step aside and allow another candidate to take on Trump.

Biden this week plans to meet with Democratic governors and lawmakers, travel to two battleground states and sit for his first televised interview since his debate in a bid to calm anxiety over his reelection prospects.

A number of alternate Democrats — including Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Vice President Kamala Harris — now perform better against Trump than Biden does, the memo says, when their numbers are adjusted to account for their lower name recognition.

Wait Biden is old and people would rather elect someone else? When did this happen? I have been saying both things for years lol.

Also, I'm very very supportive of religion. I think religion is beneficial to society. I have said this many times. My family is extremely religious and they are awesome.

Another swing and another miss. ssdd

That is an argument that can be made in the hearing to decide such things. I think Trump's lawyers will lose that one, but either way that is light years from the narrative of Trump being so immune from prosecution that he could assassinate his rivals without consequence.

It was trumps own lawyers who said that a president should be able to assassinate a political rival and have immunity from prosecution lol.

Former President Trump’s legal team suggested Tuesday that even a president directing SEAL Team Six to kill a political opponent would be an action barred from prosecution given a former executive’s broad immunity to criminal prosecution.

The hypothetical was presented to Trump attorney John Sauer who answered with a “qualified yes” that a former president would be immune from prosecution on that matter or even on selling pardons.

Layers say all kinds of stuff in arguments, but that isn't what came down in the decision. Trump may have wanted blanket immunity, and he may have wanted to have won the 2020 election, but here in reality neither happened. Biden became President. Trump is still being prosecuted for acts while he was in office, and we are going to have a Presidential election this year.

Trump isn't being prosecuted for anything actually. He is just out campaigning and golfing and stuff.

Weren't you just liking and laughing at post just YESTERDAY with @Rubashov and @str8line saying they wanted to put Trump up against a wall and shoot him? Literally yesterday.... Less than 24 hours ago? You guys literally just yesterday were saying it's ok to kill a political rival. Another day, more hypocrisy.

"I'm going to give you a chance to say ... if you stay by it: If the president decides that his rival is a corrupt person and he orders the military, or orders someone, to assassinate him -- is that within his official acts for which he can get immunity?" she asked during oral arguments.

"It would depend on the hypothetical," Sauer answered. "We could see that could well be an official act."

He's being prosecuted in four cases currently.

Being prosecuted doesn't mean 'is sitting in a courtroom'. Being prosecuted means he under indictment.

Nope
Being under indictment means being under indictment. That already happened. He is under indictment. He hasn't been prosecuted yet. That hasn't happened and isn't currently happening. Let's say trump wins the election and never goes to trial. Let's say the judges throw out the cases. That would mean he was never prosecuted.

Idk. Show me the post.

Anywho, yep trumps own lawyers said he should be immune from prosecution if he assassinated his political opponent. Nice we can agree on that.

Yep, they made it immeasurably easier for Biden to do exactly that and go after his political rival for no reason at all. Let's see the mental gymnastics the right will go through to spin this one around.
You were right about the mental gymnastics
