What's new

2024 NBA Free Agency Thread

The Spurs are apparently interested in acquiring talented vets on 1-2 year contracts to surround Wemby. Gives them a chance to stay somewhat competitive while he's developing. Also allows them flexibility to potentially add a star player in '25 or '26. They have their #1 guy but this appears to be their plan to develop him the next few years.
What can we get in return for JC? He have a mansion there.

I am unfamiliar with the social connotation with this picture. Please explain.
from the movie La La land. One of the better chick flick musicals. If you watch it that damn song will be in your head for a month though.

Yeah one of the best movies of all time in my book.

Beautifully made, so heart wrenching, and the ending just sticks with you.
My teenage daughter loved it… until the end lol. I enjoyed kinda the deeper meaning comparisons etc. I’d stop short of best movies of all time but it’s memorable for sure.

Jovan Buha of the athletic says Jazz and Lakers have talked and he thinks it’s salary cap type facilitator move.

Get the protections of the pick for renting the space. JC for DLo and Vincent likely helps them… waive Dlo (might get a decent reduction if he can get a deal elsewhere… his market should be more than the minimum for sure). Might do a three teamer where Nets send Schroeder for Russell?

That would be ideal. Then the lakers can do a sign and trade with the bulls that takes Derozan into the DLo trade exception.

Yeah it’s one of the saddest ending ever… making the rest of the film so bittersweet with repeated viewing.

It’s the reason I don’t watch it that often.. just too sad.. lol..

So what does this do for Warriors interest in Lauri?
Nothing. One Warriors beat writer said these Hield and Anderson are fringe moves but the organisation still intends to find one impact player.

He said Lauri is still their #1 target.

Agreed. Basically, they could be viewed as Moody and Kum replacements.

Never seen it but isn’t the ending basically just a ripoff/reenactment/paying homage to Rebel Without a Cause? Hardly hardwrenching if it just mimics another film.

But I haven’t seen it so what the **** do I know.

Watch it first.

I have to admit, I’ve never liked musicals, so I didn’t think it was gonna be good but it surprised me.
