Pacers also don’t tank… and historically good at retooling on the fly… and have a great coach. Even with injuries they will be able to have a high floor for at least the next 3 years or so. Jarace Benny and the picks is not nothing but you have to REALLY believe in Jarac and/or Benny.

How would they retool on the fly with no picks?

Even if you think there is a big difference you’re getting Jarace, Nembhard, and two extra picks swaps instead of two late firsts.
 
We really that down on Jarace after one year? That’s pretty wild. He was at least 7th or 8th on the Jazz’s big board last year.
 
I'm just not a top 5 pick or bust person. I dont care. Just keep Lauri unless it's a homerun and a bunch of mid picks/swaps and Jarace Walker isnt a homerun.

It’s so much more than just top-5 pick or bust. It’s also waiting out the West which is at its peak in terms of talent in the history of the league.

Waiting out the West? We just going to go in a cave and hibernate for the 15 years of Wemby's existence? The West is deep, but it isnt anything to be scared of in terms of the top teams. We arent doing making decisions because we are scared of the competition.

We definitely aren’t competing this year and there is no realistic path to doing so either.

It’s not scared of competition it’s realizing we’re not in a spot to compete this year.

Historically they have done it. They rarely draft top ten. They likely wouldn’t need to retool but they just have a measure or org competence and also would have young players. I think it’s good if you get Mathurin and Jarace and you really like those guys.

So are we going to compete in 4 years when Wemby is in his prime or do we trade everything and tank because other teams are too strong? What time does the pussification of the Utah Jazz end?
