Bulls are going to surprise some people with how good Giddey/White are.
Okay. They losing their best player their best defender… so those guys better be real good.

I just think their backups have been held back a bit and are pretty good. Yeah losing Caruso sucks, but Ayo is ready to stepup. White was held back by LaVine. Patrick Williams is the swing player for them from being bad to decent.

Lavine still there though. Drummond was also pretty good for them. I think they will suck. Also the pick they owe is too 10 protected (or thereabouts) so won’t want to fly too close to the sun.

Handicapping the great tank race as of right now:
1- Wiz - they have Jordan Poole.
2- Nets - they showed their hand
3- Bulls - lost Derozan, Caruso, Drummond (was good for them).
4- Pistons still flawed. No idea of Cade is gonna be healthy. Multiple young players need to show out to avoid the Tobias Harris mid off show.
5- Portland - might be frisky if they don’t trade Grant and Clingan is solid.
6- Jazz/Horncat tie- if you told me Ball would play 70 games I’d say they have the edge in a weaker East. They would be close to the play in if so and likely not put on the brakes.
8- Raps they play basketball in Canada
9- whatever team gets hurt.

Pretty good rankings.
Where do the jazz rank in that list assuming health for the other tanks and Lauri missing 40 games and Sexton missing 30 games or something.
Gonna have to get real creative with the load management

Jazz could easily be better than the Raptors and Hawks. Sexton, Lauri and even John Collins are pretty competent players.

Power rankings assume normalish health and normalish tanking efforts. 30 or 40 games would mean a legitimate injury… no one gets that aggressive with holding guys out. Maybe 10-15 games due to tanking management. Sexton won’t want to be held out as he’s already seen as having some issues there and will be playing the next couple years for a new deal.

This is how I see it. Hawks have no reason to tank… Raps have a bunch of competent NBA players now and are in the East. One injury to Barnes or Trae or Johnson could swing things of course. Assuming normal health and no major roster shakeups this is how I’d rank it.

More salary cap room
I never knew that you could trade a dude to a team for nothing at all.
Does that happen much?

The Hawks traded Dejounte Murray for Dyson Daniels and Larry Nance Jr. I think Murray was their best player. Now it's the Jalen Johnson show with Risacher and Trae Young. I'm not confident.
