What's new

I'm Back: Toronto Raptors at Utah Jazz Wednesday, January 25th - 7 PM

Living on the far side of the international date line from Utah, it is January 26 here, which is Australia Day, the holiday we have to celebrate the arrival of the First Fleet in Sydney, when several shiploads of English convicts landed and stole the land from the natives, and in spite of it's name, is not really regarded as our national day (which is Anzac Day). In honor of this day, I would like to share something with you about Australia that is also relevant to tonight's game.

In Australia, the word ROOT is not just part of a tree, it is also a slang word for fornication, synonymous with, and usable interchangeably with, the f-word. So if you, like me, will be watching Boler and Harp on ROOT Sports, you too can now get the same infantile level of enjoyment I get at every station promo they run just by translating this one word into Australian.

Well, I know I'll be rooting for the Jazz tonight!

So we'll see plenty of Favors/Kanter tonight. That's always exciting.
