It's also been reported that we are saying no to salary dumps right now...

C'mon, let's get creative.
I noted this situation a week ago and said that the likeliest reason is they want to frontload Lauris deal as much as possible, making the future years cheaper.

The other option really is trade for (or sign) someone using the space but only after we first secure Lauri.

I'm pretty sure we will still have $10M+ in space even after we give Lauri the max we can give R&E.

Also, not looking for most likely, but most exciting.

It's actually the opposite of what you would expect, but I'm guessing you misunderstood what I meant.

We haven't officually signed any of our draft picks or Eubanks. We are maintaining the maximum amount of cap space available. Typically a team would do this to sign a big free agent with cap space so they can use exceptions for their other signings.
Oh I see. Ya I think we will just sign our picks and eubanks and tank. Why we are waiting? No idea. Probably just want to get Lauri done first and means nothing

Does anyone have a good conspiracy theory on why we haven't signed anyone yet? I believe the only reason we wouldn't do that is to sign them after we use our cap room. The Lauri R&E won't take up the whole cap space, so what could it be?

(I'm pretty sure we are just keeping our options open, but would love to here some more fun guesses)
Maximum flexibility.

They want to get above the floor but hold onto some cap space to absorb deals midseason.

I'd guess that until Lauri extends they're better off just doing nothing. Opportunity cost of waiting to sign flip and Eubanks seems to be zero. Some opportunity cost to saying no to salary dumps until after the sixth, but probably less than messing up even a very slim chance of a Lauri deal trying to get a second or two.

There's a thread dedicated to this...

Look this ain’t the early 2000s. There is nothing exciting you can do with $10M. This is like me giving the kids $5 and telling them to have fun.

5 bucks was my weekly allowance when I was 16. I had to decide if I wanted to have lunch each day (a soda and a cinnamon bun for a dollar) or buy a nickel bag of weed.

He was the perfect foil for Robin Williams back in the day

"Golden State, to date, has pursued Markkanen without including Podziemski or Jonathan Kuminga in trade packages laden with future draft compensation."

This is honestly fine, but the hubris of Golden State is astounding to me. As long as they keep the word championship out of their mouths for the next decade+ then I guess that’s fine, because this is the last train out of town for them.
